Im a hockey player by profession but in training for hockey i go to the boxing gym 5 days a week. I get in a good amount of fights on the ice but only get hit in the face and head...i must say that getting hit with a solid body shot is much worse than a head shot....so with that said who in your opinion is the best body puncher in boxing today?
Don't forget about Juan Manuel Marquez. His body attack started early against Diaz and it really paid off later on. Kellerman commented that Diaz was talking a breather in one of the middle rounds, but I believe it was simply the body punches that were zapping some energy from Diaz.
Also, the body shots that Mosley gave to Mayorga.
Remember, Mayorga recently pulled out of the Angulo fight because his ribs still hurt from the Mosley fight, lol.
Dont forget the Oscar De la Hoya fight too, Shane Mosley has the style of a mexican fighter with all the athleticism of a black fighter.
andrew golota
your penis is part of your body right? thanks.
That had me genuinely :lol1:
Although I'm not a big fan of his I think Hatton is sometimes over rated, but in terms of body puncher, I think he really is one of the best. He spends so much time working on it and has pulled off some brutal gut shots.
Cotto I am a fan of, but I'm just not quite as sure he's all round better at it. Slicker at times maybe. A close 2nd for me.

cotto and nate campbell.....
Some of you forget Shane Mosley's body attack against Margarito...

But what he lacks to be an good body puncher is power!
He doesnt have great power, but his body attack wears his opponents down. is he going to put someone down with one shot, prob not, but you cant argue with the fact that he puts combinations to the body together better then just about anyone.
And on a side note, Joe Calzaghe actually does some pretty good work to the body to. He broke down Roy with a body attack and hurt Kessler with some good body shots as well.
Get Mayweathers nuts out of your mouth, iin no way, shape or from, Floyd is a better bodypuncher that Cotto!!!!!!!!!!
Dude in fairness, Mayweather is a GREAT body puncher.
Juan Diaz. Sometimes he goes away from it, which i never could understand. He's very good at finding openings and throwing combinations to the body.
