It's do or die for Khan. This fight means so much more for him then it does for Barerra, who has had it all already. If Khan loses whether it be by a KO or a decision his career as a top level fighter will never come to fruitation. It's crunch time for Khan, and if he can't beat a eroded Barerra then he will never be a World champion.

I would say he was where Audley Harrison was after his first two losses. Back on the British/Euro scene, each time he won a decent fight making a brief jump up into the fringe contender type role only to find he couldnt hack it there again. If this was the Barrera of 3-4 years ago I wouldn't say it was a big deal, but Barrera today is not the P4P man he used to be. Anyway, Khan seems the type who might have other interests outside of boxing, and might just call it a day if he racks up 1 or 2 more losses.

Lets happily presume Barrera brutalises Amir, two ko losses in under a year should relegate him to British level at best If he gets knocked out again, he might be done as a fighters anyway. There is only so many times you can be knockout without it taking something away from you as a fighter, physically. Some guys are never the same after KO losses.
