Adamek's only chance is to win by KO. Sure Joe is fast like Dawson, but when Joe is fast, he has no power, but when Koe sits down on his punches he gains the proper power at the expense of his speed. So Joe lacks the firepower to keep Adamek at bay. That doesn't mean he will get KO'd, just he won't be able to keep Tomasz off of him. The ionly point where Calzaghe would get in trouble, is if he let his fighting spirit take over. At times Joe just wants to fight and trade shots, and thats entertaining, but he CAN'T do that with Adamek. I don't know if the extra 25lbs has helped Adamek that much, but damn they sure have seemed to. If Joe stays away (which can be difficult because Adamek can cut off the ring well) then he wins by wide UD. he stands and trys to prove his mettle, he'll take the same nap Banks did.
And Dirk, glad I made ur sig...I hope everyone caught the "Hardcore Boxing Fans" everyones favorite boxing analyst
The "hardcore boxing fans" bit is the funniest part
I say that calzaghe has a easier time with Adamek than B'Hop. Calzaghe will carry the weight better, becuse he is bigger than B'Hop IMO, plus B'Hop will have to really on defense, and backing up and Zaghe, will be throwing punches in bunches, that will keeo Adamek at bay, plus Zaghe will be moving too.
I say Zaghe wins a easy UD 116'111 and Bhops either wins a UD116-113 or gets KTFO by Adamek!!!!!!!!!!!
No man, I can't agree with that. Hopkins does not get KO'd by Adamek! He's another one with a a seriously good beard. In fact it has to be one of the best in the business. Neither Hopkins nor Calzaghe have ever been remotely close to being KO'd. Hopkins doesn't get hit enough, and Calzaghe's powers of recovery are off the scale.
Both beat Adamek on points, IMO.

Very possible I just don't see his punches in bunches/flurries really stopping him from getting within range to do some real damage. Is that and size the reason you give Hopkins a greater chance to get KO'd over Calzaghe?

Doesn't mean he would win this one. A lot of hardcore boxing fans don't only believe Hopkins beat Calzaghe, but Reid and Bika as well...
Reid was close but Bika?? :lol1:
I haven't seen much of Adamek but I really wasn't impressed in his fight with Banks who gave him a close fight prior to the stoppage, who I also wasn't impressed with in the least after seeing some youtube clips prior to the fight. I'm downloading the Dawson and Cunningham fights as we speak so I'll hold off total judgment until then but right now I saw Calzaghe takes him.
Thanks man, I appreciate it. I do my absolute best to keep it real despite my personal feelings on fighters. Otherwise, what the fuk is the point of even posting here?
Agree with you. There's nothing to hide, any of us could walk away from this board and never have to think about it again, so it seems pointless not being honest.
Props D. Keep doing your thing. :fing02:

It's fine with me, D. Some of the coolest people on the board are totally nuts about their fighter and support him until they die. And that's OK.
Larryx = total Floyd nut but a very good dude. I like reed, a total Jones nuthugger (I mean it in the nicest possible way), although I don't think he likes me at all. Also, you happen to be one of my favorite posters because you come across as a straight-up BS-free person. Like not being a fan of Calzaghe but not talking out of your ass on topics like this one.
So yes, I agree with you, they can be good for the sport, although some are most definitely not. There are a few people here who are just way too extreme.

Haha, yeah man I'm not saying you are not rational or don't back up your posts. I nuthug the shit out of Roy. The sport needs nuthuggers, they are good for it.

I actually find it amusing, so no worries, D. What I try to do is put across arguments using facts. I can't stand haters of any fighter, if you hadn't noticed? Some people don't like that I confront their posts with facts, therefore they occasionally call me a nuthugger because it's the easy way out. Label him a nuthugger and keep life simple! I was called a Pac nuthugger the other day, too. That's because one guy completely misread my post.
There are some fighters I dislike, but you would never be able to call me a hater. I refuse to sink to that level. I don't call fighters "bums", it's too disrespectful. I have fairly strong views when it comes to disrespecting boxers in general, and most of the time I've supportive of even the bad ones. There are some who piss me off a little bit, like how Hatton is doing right now because he constantly talks about "the pound for pound title" as though beating Pac will boost him to the top of the list, but that's pretty much as far as it goes.
In a nutshell, nuthuggers and haters are no different. I get along better with people who have a balanced view rather than being extreme in one direction or the other. Call me a nuthugger for posting a rational argument if it makes you happy. :)

He is definately on the p4p list for the Calzaghe nuthuggers.
No offence intended FRKO, just the way it is son.

exactly well said, and i dont think your a fan either so its good to hear someone from a neutral veiwpoint speaking sense. theres no need to hate open your eyes and see sense ppl you dont av to like him but at least see the reality.
Thanks.
No, I like Joe Calzaghe, I think he was an excellent fighter with a unique and interesting style. I am not a nuthugger like some people on the forums because I acknowledge the fact that he had flaws, and nuthuggers don't do this, they think he can do no wrong. For starters, he could have done more in his prime years, such as get his lazy ass over to America and prove his talent. In some ways, he wasted that chance He should have gotten rid of Warren long ago, too.
I think he fell into a trap of being made comfortable in the UK because he was earning good money fighting less-than-stellar opponents. I understand this to a certan extent, because first and foremost, boxing is a business. On the other hand there comes a time when you have to step outside the comfort zone and start pushing through, even if it means cutting your money and taking some chances. Joe didn't do this as much as he should, but in terms of talent, I can't knock him. Very good fighter indeed.

Oh my fukn god. Did you just say FRKO is not a Calzaghe fan? LOL. Wow.

How Ironic. You just said anyone who thinks Hopkins or Reid won is a hater! Two posts up from were you say he's entitled to his opinion:rofl::rofl::rofl::owned:
No I didn't, foolio. A lot of haters use that same argument, that's all. egreezy at least comes across as quite rational and a little more balanced than the average nutjob.

I think you're under rating his chin, to be honest. He got knocked down, sure, but he got up. I don't think either Hopkins or Jones hurt him, they merely woke him up, especially Jones. If he was hurt he would have been cautious, but he was exactly the opposite, fighting the rest of the fight much of the time with no guard at all. That is not the sign of a man who has been hurt. That's a sign of a guy saying "**** you! You didn't hurt me enough to keep me down. I'm taking whatever you can give and winning the fight while still giving you a chance to hit me."
I don't believe any light heavy can keep him on the deck. In my opinion I don't see a cruiser KOing him either. They would need more than one punch. A sustained attack maybe, but then again when does Joe just stand there and allow himself to be hit by multiple shots?

I don't see that chin lasting @CW with the trend of his 1st rd Kds/age and Adamek k'd, tko every opponent since 2006.
You are severely overrating Adamek. This is a man who got in two wars and nearly lost to Paul Briggs - a very tough but also very limited fighter.
You are also talking like Calzaghe has a shaky chin. Getting knocked down early in fights doesn't mean you have a bad chin. Trinidad had/has a great chin and he used to get knocked down against feather-fists early in his fights.
Calzaghe has a tremendous chin. I am sure he would be able to take flush shots from Adamek, even at Cruiser. However, I am not sure Adamek would land them.
I am a Dawson fan dude, you know that. Hell, I don't even like Calzaghe, not one bit, but I'm not going to delude myself into thinking Chad can look like a fukn god against Adamek and Joe would go and get knocked out by him.
Adamek just ain't THAT good, and Joe, even though I don't enjoy admitting it, is great.
Calzaghe takes this. Easily.
