excuse me if i am having a bit of a blonde moment here, but what the f**k is a inter-continential belt?
is it like a baby world title?
again excuse me for my blonde-ness
cheers
I actually like and support the idea of regional/area based titles. its a cool idea, and draws interest to boxing.
In a fun boxing world, it would be nice to see something like...
Fighter wins Florida State Boxing Title
Fighter wins North American Boxing Title
Fighter gets a title shot if he beats all the other best in North America for a while.
it would be easier to create a following, because people are going to care about you more if you represent them.
but with the multiple title belts and their terrible ranking system, its easy enough to get a title shot in the first place, so I guess fighters dont even bother.
Intercontinetal titles were first design to give shots for fighters ranked 11 & below and to discover new talents that would lead the way to a fast tracking to challenge for the world title...
but as it is now, it became a sanctioning fee milking cow...
Its the title that Ultimate Warrior had when he went to fight Hulk Hogan
he ended unifying as Hulk was the world champ
Ultimate Warrior was the LINEAL intercontinental and world champ
 i needed a good laugh .... thanks and green k!
