if you don't think Mayweather is worthy of being alongside Ali and Hagler, then don't even attempt to say the names of Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins, Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya or Felix Trinidad within 10 pages of them
floyd should not even be compared to hagler or ali. floyd is a back pedler. so what he is undefeated. thats because he hasnt fought pacman or marquez. now if you want a list. what does micky ward, barrera, marquez, tszyu, and pacman all have in common? they would all beat mayweather......
All of them were underappreciated at one point in their career?
Floyd will be viewed as such by future generations.
Come one. Putting Floyd up there with ALI & Marv is laughable.
If you ask people randomly who is the best boxer of all time, they will say ali.
Cause they don't know shit about Robinson.
Ali wasn't hated anywhere near as much as Jack Johnson, btw. Dude would cause race riots all the way across America for beating a white man.
... And you think Floyd is hated?

I do feel Floyd is very underappreciated. Everyone talks about everyone who Floyd ducked, but goddamn the man took on 5 divisions. Everyone complains that Hopkins was too big for middleweight, that he picked on the smaller men, but at least (unlike certain legends) BHop was actually able to beat the 'smaller' men he faced.
Hagler and Ali were never really hated like floyd is so i cant see things getting better for his cause down the track!!!
Have you ever seen some of Haglers earlier fights?? He didn't even get recognition and when he fought in England and beat one of their fighters. I think it was allan minter (Maybe even won the title) They booeed and threw beer cans etc in the ring at hagler. Hagler did not really get his props for a long time down the line.
Ali not hated??? When Ali didnt agree to go to war he was hated by many in the states and called all sorts of names, jailed, had his license taken and had no way to earn a living. During the time before he was jailed he had to fight outside of the states in England etc and even stoop to performing in plays/musicals to get money to live. (if that is not hating someone then I dont know what is.)

umm you're kidding, right? I'm from Louisville and everyone here hated the man when he dodged the draft. Don't talk about things you have no clue about. The guy was considered a hypocrite in his own hometown, so how is that not hated?
Why did the NAACP award Ali with the President Award this year? And since you are pretty much equating Floyd with Ali, when do you think Floyd will win it? After all, you're saying they were hated for the same things and will be loved for the same things. So when?
Obviously you can't read.
I said Floyd is hated on for far LESS than Ali ever was, and Ali is beloved now. People aren't going to care in 10 years that Floyd was arrogant and "made it rain" at every party he went to or club he showed up at. They're going to see that he was undefeated in 5 weight classes, something nobody has come close to doing and maybe won't ever.
If you call using your religion to justify beating up men in the ring and then use that same religion as an excuse not to go to war, yeah I guess that's social activism to liberals...and being a pussy to everyone else.

Didn't know Floyd was a social activist.

Ali was much more hated than Floyd is, but nowadays everybody acts like they like the guy. Outside the ring, Ali was the biggest jerk there has ever been in boxing. He was a draft dodging coward and a hypocrite. I'm from Ali's hometown and I'll be the first to tell you he was a horrible person, and his life and mission was BS. But we judge guys by what they do inside the ring, so we love him as a boxer.
Floyd gets hated on for bling bling now, but people will love him in just 10 years. He'll be everyone's favorite because he retired undefeated. Shit, look at Marciano who never had a legit opponent in front of him his whole career. PEOPLE LOVE MARCIANO, and he did absolutely nothing compared to Floyd. Every name opponent Marciano fought was an old man or beaten down by the time Rocky got to them.
Don't sweat the hate Floyd gets now. It's part of the internet age. If someone like Ali can be appreciated now, Floyd will be adored in less than a decade, bank on it.
