the rematch makes no sense... diaz was dropped savagely.
if he doesnt fight pac, he should fight campbell at 140... that makes more sense (since campbell was really the lightweight champ at 135 before he lost it on the scales).
Before the cut i could sort of tell the momentum of the fight was shifting. I was beginning to think this fight would turn out to be a draw or majority decision
Anyways i think he should get a rematch if the hatton pacquiao fight dosent happen.
People are asking why a rematch, becuase the first fight was so good, that's why, and Juan was winning the fight, and had he had a little more power he would have put Marquez away in the second round. I thought when Diaz cornered Marquez he was winning mostly all those flurries. Even though Diaz got knocked he has very good defense and i doubt he would get KO again.
GL: Does a rematch with Marquez interest you, and where do you go from here?
JD: I would love a rematch, because I feel I was ahead on the cards. If a rematch is possible, then I would jump at the opportunity. I doubt that's going to happen. He's already talking about leaving the lightweight division, and moving up to fight Mayweather or the winner of Hatton and Pacquiao. I know that's out of the question, and I know most of those guys are out of the question for me as well. Right now, I'm going to take a little break, relax, and get back with my promoter, and my manager, Savannah, and see what happens from there.
From Btalk.
I don;t think much will change, Diaz is just too inexperienced. He was 1 dimensional in his fight with Marquez - applying pressure and throwing in bunches, which Marquez obviously adjusted to.
