Tito fought a bigger guy in Hopkins, which explains his lack of power and was at the very east MORE competitive than Margarito was against little Shane. At least Tito wanted revenge. No you never got it... Tito's father always maintains this to be the PROPER way to wrap a fighters hand to avoid injury not to supply more power with tape!??? Be real, the amount of tape it would take, Tito would have to enter the ring with 30 Oz. Gloves... You can hit someone with a roll of straight up duct tape and it won't mean shit... You can't compare a few strips of TAPE to plaster. I know you are all about Margarito but he is a fckin BUM fighter to begin with who made a short career using PLASTER. They pulled his wrap off against Hopkins and there was a noticeable loss in power. Richardson also said it was hard like a rock, what does plaster feel like? He still has an unfair advantage. Did he do it to protect his hands perhaps, but that doesn't change the fact that the other guys didn't do it, it was illegal. It doesn't change the fact that he derived more power from the wrap. It doesn't change fact that fighters said that when he hit them they felt like nothing they ever felt. Yet with proper wraps, Hopkins schools him and takes his power quite a bit easier then any fighter ever has. He cheated admit it and this thread dies. Who cares if it was to protect hands when it sacrifices the health and safety of other fighters. But hey I guess getting more power and protection then any fighter he faces on his hands isn't an advantage when it clearly created more force and a harder impact. From what I heard personally.... Tito's father said His son's hands would be more vulnerable to getting hurt with that DUMB way of wrapping and so essentially, Tito would have to hold back on his natural POWER. Keep in mind, Tito's dad speaks very little English. He would NEVER say "Oh now we can't hit as hard..." That's just dumb. He stressed it was the BEST way to preserve a fighters hand. Hopkins camp made a big deal out of it to get into Tito's head. So the safety of Tito's hands is more important then the other fighter, now I get it. So it is cool, what if Margarito was protecting his hands does that make it acceptable to hit someone with a harder then normal wrap? NOPE! So it is cool to give him more power when it is already outstanding? Tito got an unfair advantage because he hit hard? That seems like a redonkulous statement to me. Seriously cheating is cheating. No no no.... Tito's Father put the tape on his SKIN. The rules state the Gauze must go on first and THEN the tape. There was NO ROLL of tape kid. It was simple a matter tape first or gauze first when initiating the wrapping. Tito did not cheat, his father simply knew more about protecting a fighters hands than Mayweather's did. When your hands are being protected at the other fighters loss of safety it is cheating. In fact he obviously cheated, Felix admitted it. Just think what would have happened to Tito if Hopkins had those wraps when they fought, man Tito literally may have died in the ring. He got straight punked, if there would have been cast like wraps on Hopkins hands Tito would have been psychologically damaged for life. So did Margarito, no one is dismissing that, however cheating is cheating. Sorry but the wrap on his hands was illegal, he did it in almost every single fight admittedly, and you can't defend the fact that the commission allowed it illegally. Plaster or cast they still feel much harder then they are suppose to be, and they damage a fighter beyond their natural ability with those wraps.

There was a huge article with Bernard Hopkins, Bouie, and others. Cherifi Better Watch Tito's Hand Wraps. Exclusive by Ron Heard On September 29, 2001 before the fight between Bernard Hopkins and Felix Trinidad, team Hopkins sent a representative from their team to over-see Tito's hands being wrapped. When their representative arrived he was shocked to see that Tito's left hand was already wrapped, signed off and the boxing glove was on. In an exclusive interview Bernard Hopkins (said), "I sent my team in there to watch Trinidad wrap his hands and when they got there Trinidad's left hand was already wrapped and he had his boxing glove on. So my trainer, Bouie Fisher who has been doing this stuff for a long time went over there to straighten it up. The thing is Trinidad has been getting away with doing this for a long time. I know for a fact that he has done it at least one other fight. They are used to being able to do whatever they want and get away with it. That is how it is in boxing." First of all, you have to wonder who this commissioner was that let Don Felix wrap Tito's hand without anyone from the Hopkins camp being there. Hopkins said, "not only did he let him wrap the hands without us being there, but he was in there joking and laughing and talking Spanish with the Trinidads like they were best friends. When Bouie told them that he would have to take it off and rewrap it in front of someone fron their camp, he said "NO," its already wrapped and it's too close to time for the fight to start. After much argument, they finally agreed to rewrap the hand with a member from the Hopkins team present. He was using tape instead of gause to protect his hands creating a cast like wrap. Margarito had a plaster like substance. Who is the bigger cheater? Trinidad admitted he cheated his entire career. This is more of the same crap! utilizing more tape or guaze isnt the same thing as using plaster. if you ask me the commision is to blame how can a person say hes wraped his boxerers hands that way all the time and the commision never did anything about it .arent they the ones to say whats illegal and whats not . and ill let you in on something ive sparred and boxed although not profesionally and you feel the difference when its tape or cloth wraps tape is harder so imagine plaster!

Marg is the bigger one because he rubbed salt into the wounds by also having a Mullet.. My girlfriends dad has a mullet. except his is way way noticeable. BWAH! Give up kid... Tito was applying MORE GAUZE... NOT plaster. Tito had TRUE raw POWER. KO POWER not that Plaster type shit that cuts ears off and slowly but surely break opponents down. Tito's father was all about protecting Tito's hands. He NEVER denied and he even stated with nothing to hide, how he ALWAYS wrapped them this way IN FRONT of the COMMISSIONER and ALWAYS had them signed off. TITO HAD 1 PUNCH KTFO POWER. Margarito was weaknut who CHEATED with PLASTER. Don't even try it. Well so far they have cheated equally. Both were caught illegally wrapping their hands. however if the substance that came back is plaster than Marg is the bigger cheater
