I also noticed that Arum chose to attend the Pavlik fight. I mean, he can't be at both places at once, but you'd think Bob might want to show a tiny bit support for Cotto in light of recent events between.
So if Arum gets pissed at him, he could freeze him out against Top Rank guys Kind of like how other promoters did, like Shaw with Donaire, and Mayweather with anyone from Top Rank.
I hope that's not the case.
It could happen, but you have to understand that the money that Mayweather or Donaire fights make are not the kind of money that a Cotto fight makes.
But I agree, a lot of promoters almost make it like their stable is their own league. They won't let you into that league, robbing the sport of great fights.
I honestly think that means he is probably going to leave Top Rank.
He seems really upset and feels really betrayed that Arum sided with Margarito over him, and this new calling people out thing is basically saying that Bob Arum does not make all the decisions anymore.
He should and will leave Top Rank.
I tend to agree. He's a free agent this year and he isn't happy with the situation with Margarito. It's just so weird to hear him being vocal, I've become so accustomed to hearing him deferring everything to Bob Arum.
I'm glad Cotto had the decency to add Clottey's name to that list, a godamn titleholder chasing fights. Clottey will end up quiting boxing soon enough... it's got a no structure and decent guys like him can't get fights.
Merchant did the same thing after the Urkal fight i think. He said 'all the big names' then but didn't actually list them individually.
True, it's like Cotto is in his Top Rank teens where he is lashing out now.
Got a tatoo... being vocal, soon he will end up pregnant and running away into the sunset with a guy on a motorcycle :D

Yeah, HBO has pushed him to say names before and he always says my job is in the ring, their job is to pick my fights for me.
I agree with DWeins but I also think it had a lot to do with the announcer kind of pushing him to say it. He asked Cotto who he wanted to fight and told him he didn't want to hear the same answer as he always has said before.

That's what I thought.
It just shows how truly loyal to Top Rank Cotto was and now that Top Rank doesnt seem to recipricate, or at least not in Cotto's eyes, he feels he is more on his own now.
