He isn't a bum. He just isn't at the elite level. He just better give it his all and not get hurt.
being that he's not ELITE, and just a "good" fighter, he can fight somebody else just "good" and will lose b/c his heart isn't in it. he's a bum, it'll show sooner or later.....
fighting to "not get hurt" as opposed to wanting to win.......
at least he's honest
he was a bum before he said that........he can't beat top level fighters, and he fought a heartless fight against hatton. i knew watching that shit his heart wasn't in it. good luck w/ the paychecks tho, it'll be hard for him to get a BIG payday regardless.
Mayweather made much more money and had bigger pay days then Paulie. he had the option to retire when he lost his desire to fight. Paulie has NOT made nearly the amount of money Mayweather made. His biggest payday was against Hatton and he grossed 800K. He loked really bad in that fight afraid to throw his right hand and counter Ricky even when he made him miss. Paulie is from the same neighborhood I am from. In our neighborhood it is about pride. money is the motivating factor but when you are in a fight you want to win period. People in our neighborhood would clown him if he got knocked out. they may not do it to his face but it would be talked about in barber shops and local bars in Bay Ridge. For sure I could imgaine he could have said he wants to fight on like Holyfield claims too and say it is not about money I am not broke I want to win another title. Any boxer who tells you it is not about money either has money or is lying. Sure there are a few boxers out there who want to be the best but that it only after they have money or they want bigger money fights and they need to beat a brand name to get their name up there for those fights.
As for Paulie being a bum and trust me I am not a fan of Paulie but to say he is a bum is a bit ridiculous. He is a good fighter with great hand speed and his south paw stance and boxing ability make it hard to deal with him. His limited power keep him from achieving super star status. if he had fought like he did against Cotto when he fought Hatton he would have gotten more praise but the announcers on HBO bashed him pretty good saying he was in way above his head and that his managers and promoters should get alot of credit for him being in the ring that night. Frankly he fought thet way they decribed him that night but I have seen much better from paulie as Harold Ledderman said that night as well....Lefty
Good stuff Lefty.. Love BayRidge too kettleblack and the salty dog
Bad news for him... he doesn't have the desire to win fights anymore, just for the money. I know Mayweather fought when the money was right and all but he still had the desire to win all of those fights, he retired due to losing that desire.
It is not good news for him to fight when he hasn't got the heart, desire, and determination to win those fights believe me.

Paulie will be back, dont worry. I understand what his saying, god knows how many fights left he has, very few i suspect with his right hand, so he needs to make that money whilst he's still here. Get back A.S.A.P Magic Man, need to run this division now, like he should have.
Malinaggi would do ok against any of the other top 10 at LWW, Hatton just happens to be a level above the rest of LWW.
I think he could win another belt, either Kotelnik or Urango would find it hard to beat Malinaggi.
Malignaggi is a good fighter, tough as nails and impressive handspeed, a slick style.. Tough fight for just about any fighter even if he does lack power which is why it makes it one of Hatton's best wins stopping him.

This is what the rick-meister does to people
Title was a typo btw, should have been NOW
paulie is a bum
I want to see him vs Zab Judah, I think it would be a good fight for the Garden.
I don't like Malignaggi continuing I htink he should venture out into soemthing else his right hand will never be good and the Hatton showed there's nowhere to go with a glass right hand.
If he does though, he should go back to Brooklyn and get back with his old trainers! Buddy slowed him down a lot
"Don't say I ain't got no heart!"
"I don't really have the desire, as far as love of the game, it's more about the paycheck I can make."
Yeah, shows how much heart he had to being with.
You can tell this was his mindset all along. He was afraid to throw his right hand against Hatton and wasn't motivated against NDou in the rematch. His hair incident was an embarrassment. It plainly showed that he doesn't care about legacy. I think winning the belt mattered to him, and his huger left immediately after. Especially considering he hurt his had twice since then. He didn't have to say it out loud. You could see it for the past two fights.
