questions for mexicans: izzy vasquez

why is it that pochos always post on this threads???? the only regular mexican who posts here a lot(me), is always supporting vazquez- r marquez-jm marquez........and saying the other guys(margarito-mares-ortiz) may not be that good....

i put izzy well above margarito, ortiz and light years ahead of angulo. he is one of my fav mexican fighters. he is awesome and his trilogy with rafa was one of the best if not the best.

To be honest, I think it is because these fighter at the lower classes don't have many opportunities to fight boxers of other races who have rabid fans as equally insane as these posters. I think they wanna have a fighter they can dickride against the fighter of other fans who are as equally racially motivated. Its like the ying and the yang, you have your Brandishes and Flawlesses (who I truly think is a wigger) and you have your Vivas and Xcarets. They can only exist because the others exists and vice versa. once again I appeal to morales who's main rival wasnt a non-mexican but mab, a mexican. racial rivalry is a convenient answer, but I dont think its at the root of it.

I'm not trying to say mexican don't support izzy 100%, i'm trying to figure out why izzy isnt as popular as margarito. The only thread I saw from a CREDIBLE poster of which you describe was regarding in the higher weight classes. Unless Izzy plans on fighting 154 +, then your claim holds no weight unless you feel like posting these 10+ threads. credible or not why hasn't vasquez captured the imaginations of these wack-job posters??? Every "mexican" fan here is behind Izzy 100% and the only reason you were seeing Margarito threads was because Margarito had a fight coming up. Izzy is on break. If you've been here long enough, you know there are threads after threads on Marquez and Vazquez both when they have fights. I wanted casamayor (the lineal champ) to fight campbell (the unified champ). now that jmm is the lineal champ I wanted him to fight campbell. but now that campbell has been rightfully stripped of his belts, I can really careless who jmm fights after diaz. comprende???

I don't know about you guys but I actually had marquez winning the third fight with vazquez. That may be another reason why he's not as famous although still admired and respected by all mexicans. The third one was a close one. The knockdown sealed the victory for Vazquez in my eyes. And it was a knockdown, Marquez would've been in press row had it not been for the turnbuckle and ring ropes stopping him. Love both guys though, perfect examples of what you want in a fighter. Quiet, humble, respectful, gifted, and ballsy.

That's bs. didn't meant to offend you. but most of vasquez fans that i have seen are non mexicans.vasquez which his TV rating against marquez were high.when he fought marquez for the 3rd time,they only brought 9,000 fans. vasquez is very underrated in the mexican community. i believe because he has beat jhonny gonzales,oscar larios,and rafa marquez.

On a side note, Barrera's mastery of the English language really shocked me.

Vasquez doesn't need anything to be hyped up. He is already proven and has the respect of majority of the boxing fans. What more could you ask for?? maybe boxing fans but not mexican fans.

See above. He speaks English quite regularly. It's not as good as Barrera's english, but it's not bad either. I understand him perfectly. he pauses alot but does speak clearly.
