I think it is a jab, even though I have only been Boxing for 2-3 weeks... I have heard things that make sense from videos, etc.
A good jab is the the best punch in Boxing as somebody already stated... if it lands flush and powerful it can send your opponent wobbling, and also the jab sets up your other punches... e.g. if you manage to snap somebodies head back with a good jab it can set you up to throw another powerful shot at you opponent while in a safer position (whether it is a straight or a hook or whatever).
That is what I have heard anyway... but there is obviously a lot more to it that I should learn in the future. Some of it could be right and some of it could be wrong but all I am saying is that's what I have heard.
IMO, The most important thing a fighter can have is a good Jab. It's neutralizes fast opponents and you can set up some nasty shots off of the jabs that you're opponent will never see coming.
Jabs 1000% !!!
The Latin Fake as Mel likes to call him.
No seriously, he seems to do a bit of feinting ive noticed, but mainly head feints he got that herky jerky style like Robbie Peden.
Yeah he does, that awkward movement he has feints an opponent out of position. Mayweather, Jones and Hopkins are/were probably the best at feinting in the past 20 years, they really know how to use their shoulders, legs etc. to feint an opponent into making a mistake.
nice thread.
i think both have things that make them really important.
but the jab is more important through out the match.
although it depends on the fighter ... some guys have problems with a good jab,
and others may find it more troublesome to have a guy feinting and not really knowing
when and what is he throwing.
Yeah agree there. I mean some guys who look to get inside actually want you to jab so they have an avenue to get inside, because they can time it and then slip inside with a counter punches etc.

Jab, because you dont have to feint to before you punch, if you use good head movement and punch of the angles that head movement creates. You can feint with jab anyway.
0.33 noticed the feint with jab before he throws the hook.
Both can be important, but overall, it's obviously jabs. Shakin your opponent so you can land punches don't win you a fight, actually landin the ****in punches wins you a fight.
Jabs, I think you need a jab before your opponent bites on your feints, you can feint all you want but if you don't have a jab, your opponent won't fall for those feints.
