Did he look like shit because he knew he was about to get busted. I mean, how can someone perform in a prizefight at the world class level with that kind of shit on thier mind. Knowing that his illegal pads/wraps had just been confiscated by the CSAC. That's no way to go into a fight.
or
Was he just not in top form that night, possibly weight drained? Did the Margarito camp feel they were not in top form, and feel they needed a little help to beat Shane, thus the attempted use of illegal pads/wraps?
or
Was Shane just better than him?
Tony was clearly off that night. Whether it was because he was shook up because he got caught, weight drained, un-trained I don't know, but he did not look like himself that night. Shane was presented an opportunity and took full advantage.
Margarito will never beat a fighter with a style like Shane. He aint beatin a talented boxer who can counter and put together combinations and is fairly elusive. Margarito can only overcome some1 with power. He could barely land a glove on Shane so that wasn't possible.
One dimensional overrated fighter from the beginning is Margarito. I've been saying it...
All of the above and Shanes holding Tony couldnt work inside.
I picked all of the above as well. Not saying he would have one, but he probably would have performed better had he not tried to use illegal wraps. At least he'd have a clear head going in.
I think it's the first and the third.. if anyone looked weight drained it was Mosley.
Margarito simply wasn't used to fighting a guy like Mosley.
If you look at the Mayorga fight the only reason Mayorga lasted so long is because he wouldn't let Shane tie him up by throwin a bunch of punches when he got in close, he kept punching not allowing him to think, and he also used some head movement (something Margo lacks).
It was the wrong style for Margarito.. Mosley just had his number.
You add the wraps scandal into the mix and what happened, happened.
I would say a mix of
1) Knowing he just got caught had to have done something to his psyche
2) Mosley was and will always be better than him
3) He lacked the knuckle pads to wear down his opponent.
