Is Joe Calzaghe a top 50 ATG?

If Calzaghe is and ATG, then Jermaine Taylor is too. He beat Hopkins twice, the first fight was a toss up (which i thought HOpkins should have won) but he won the second fight more convincingly. He also dominated Lacy. he has Calzaghe's resume right there plus another win over B-Hop. So does that make Taylor an ATG 2? Jt is a bad mofo, But his win over Lacy doesn't compare to Calzaghe's win over Lacy becuase he was already damaged goods after Calzaghe got a hold on him.

really? okay. i take it back. eubank was in his prime. it doesn't matter that eubank hadn't fought at 168 for 2 years. it doesn't matter that eubank was suppose to fight at 190 and had to weight drain to 168 on short notice. it doesn't matter that eubank was at the end of his career. it doesn't matter that eubank never won a single fight again after fighting joe. the chris eubank that joe fought was the best eubank ever seen in the ring! Eubanks last 5 fights might have been losing ones but they were his most couragous ones. his 2 against thompson and calzaghe the most! no he wasnt at his best but it was a damn good win nevertheless! They might not have been tha best competition but he beat all comer a SM with 20 defences . he had the skills to hang with the best of em in history thats for sure. but me? Id have him about 60ish. but i wouldnt be suprised if well into the future he was placed much much higher!!

Neither was Brewer who was coming off a loss to who should've been Calzaghe's opponent, Antwun Echols. And Roy Jones was shot. Lacy sadly, isn't really a respectable name. The jury is still out on Kessler, just like it is on Calzaghe's legacy. his resume is shite for a supposed atg. 10 respectable names? the guy's been boxing for 15-16 years. he's been a "champion" for 11. name the 10 and you'll realize it. respectable names don't mean great wins.That would be why he's outside the top 100 for me. The half of this forum who dont think hes top 100 are deluding themselves. How many in that 100 have a better win % than Calzaghe? How many in that 100 have longer title reigns?

So number six in the last twenty years. I know some will say higher, and more will probably say lower but, I think his undefeated record should be respected, and he is as tough as they come. Erik Morales is ahead of him Marco Antonio Barrera is ahead of him Pernell is ahead of him Manny Pacquaio is ahead of him Julio Cesar Chavez is ahead of him Ricardo Lopez is ahead of him Between 90 to 100 IMO

Definitely not top 50, but perhaps 100. Hard to say, there have been such a large number of hall of fame-quality fighters in the past 100 years alone. It's much simpler to measure him as a British fighter, in which case he's definitely among the top 5, like it or not.

Calzaghe is def top 100, some of you just need to stop hating on this guy.

I disagree with people using Hopkins age as an excuse, he wasn't as good as he was at middleweight, but he was still a solid fighter. Calzaghe won, only problem is, he looked aweful - fight could have gone ether way. Calzaghe is good but not that good, I think Taylors win was more impressive than Zaghes.
