Lmao, I actually like Froch, although he does talk some shit.
Hope he does well against Taylor
Froch is really making a fool himself. He already made a fool of himself when he tried offering Calzaghe $10 million just to fight him. Boxing isn't popular before, you get attention by winning big fights, not desperatley asking for it. And so far Froch is definitley unproven.
Its good that Joe has retired on the top the way he wanted to without a loss. With that being said, Ive never looked at him as the best light heavyweight though i do think hes the greatest super middleweight of all time.
That ring magazine title( that will now become vacant) should be put on the line in the Dawson/Tarver or Dawson against Hopkins if Bernard wants the fight. I always thought Dawson would beat Joe and its really a shame that the fight never happened, because it was my dream match and a significant fight that should have been made.
Oh and on Froch against Taylor, i like Froch to win by unanimous decision, possibly late stoppage. I think hes way underrated and will poss the same kind of problems against Jermaine that Kelly did. Too big, too strong, long accurate jab and great power.
I have to disagree with you about Froch. Although he has some good upside, his negatives outweight his postives, and he is not as good as he is ranked. I watched the fight against Pascal and he gets hit a lot. Really I want to believe he's a good boxer, but he's not.
I can't wait till froch gets exposed he's gonna look like an idiot, he has absolutely no defence he is lucky he has a good chin, but that will only take him so far. He looked amateur at times against pascal, he squares up way too much and is absolutely wide open to straight punches, if he thinks hes gonna get away with that against someone who hits like jermain taylor he's mistaken. If taylor has got anything left in the tank he will be far too fast for froch
I'm not a huge Calzaghe fan but I don't like Froch talking so much shit. You could say that maybe Joe has a big mouth and relatively weak resume, but the same goes for Carl Froch. I'de like to see JT whoop him

I've heard reporters talk of Hopkins and RJJ being past prime in same sentence as those fights not coming of few years ago or more. One obviously being Hopkins pulling out.
And that's in brief headlines or whatever where regardless of the sport of whatever it doesn't get to such detail. Where there is more detail is sports programs, and I've seen on Setanta alone talks of being past prime.
Regardless, Hopkins is not as past prime as made out, has great wins either side of losing to Hopkins, is the #2 LHW right behind him still over a much younger Dawson, and p4p #4.
remember 2 weeks ago when I said I saw signs of calzaghe going downhill and you proceeded to try and discredit me?
Well you've just argued the same thing about RJJ, hypocrite much?
You will find that alot on this board, they just love to hate.
Floyd Mayweather made a great observation about Roy Jones many years ago (he repeated it recently). He said once Jones loses his legs, he'll be done.
I saw Jones slipping back in 2001/2002 when Derrick Harmon (DERRICK HARMON!!) landed nearly 60% of his powershots against Jones. It showed against Woods as well who had pockets of succcess. A younger Roy would have never had his eye puffed up by Woods. Just facts.
Ruiz helped hide Jones' slippage because he was so much slower, who the hell would've noticed?
But make no mistake, Jones was slipping then.remember 2 weeks ago when I said I saw signs of calzaghe going downhill and you proceeded to try and discredit me?

Yeah fair points I'll accept slipping for sure. But, it's then just a question of how wide a time bracket is someones prime. Obiously within that they go through changes and are better in some years than others. Fighters don't hit prime one night, wake up 5 years later just out of prime.
It's an individual thing, Jones was not really that past prime when he whooped Woods. To such a small degree, it's acceptable to say he was still kinda within his prime, of say a 7 year stretch or something.
I'd sooner take Hamed mouthing off over Froch
I'd take Hamed's mouthing off over anyone's. Nobody else in the world could ever pull off yelling:
"ALLAHU AKBAR!!!
ALLAHU AKBAR!!!!!!
ALLAHU AKBAR!!!!!!!!!"
before a fight. http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/966/laughing20mr8.gif
Frothy has a long way to go before he reaches those kind of mouth-off levels.
I gotta be honest.....
The primary reason I like Froch is cos he hates Joke more than I do.
That was class, loved how he put that sychophantic presenter in her place.
Cal>>Froch..By the way who's that girl on ur avatar?
Haha, Carl Froch is the man. Say what you want about his lack of skill and defence, but the man has a massive pair of balls and is looking for the big fights.
Him saying 15 years underlines the fact he was not trying to exaggerate to make a point, but exaggerate because he exaggerates everyway possible due to inferiority complex.
Calzaghe for all sense and purposes is everything he wants to be and could be in a flash if he fought him and won, which no one gives him a shot of doing, ouch.
And that is...the best British and SMW boxer. Calzaghe denied him for years, didn't give him a pay day, dis respected him and retired with all the money, belts and credit he so desperately wants.
The fuels his words. Somewhat understandable but the level he's gone to on mouthing off generally at people inc; Taylor, since he got a belt, is ridiculous.
I'd sooner take Hamed mouthing off over Froch, looking back he'll have held a belt longer.
Can't argue with anything you said.
Sure he might've been exaggerating, but his point kinda hit home less because of the way he expressed it. Had he have said the truth - which was Roy being past his prime in '04, then I would've nodded and agreed with him completely.

Go on Carl tell em how it is son. That bird banging on about Lacy :lol1: the guy had, had 18 fights when Joe beat him and Lacy had beaten nobody. Kessler has still not beaten anybody. Jones and Hopkins both would of whooped Calzaghe's ass in their prime that is pretty unanimous amongst Boxing fans.
His career is solid, but not spectacular, but the trouble is, because British public are mostly casual fans they listen to the shit that the media spoon feeds them even though they themselves aint got a clue.
Sadly, we're not much better with the BS HBO spews.
Calzaghe's past his prime anyway! 36 when he fought Roy.
WTF...
That's OLD in boxing years. Froch acts like Calzaghe was Prime Tyson who broke into Jones' old pensioner's home to beat him with a ****ing broomstick until he bled to death.
It was Jones who called Calzaghe out too. Roy was desperate for a fight. And a fight he got.
