Cotto is still the best welterweight

Cotto IMO is the best Welter in the division, but I'm not mad at him being #2 for right now until him and Mosley fight again... We may never see Cotto vs Margarito II. I think they're trying to see how they're going to penalize Margarito and Capetillo because if they indeed found nothing, it wouldn't have even made it to a hearing. Hearings are put together when they have a legit case, its not like a traffic ticket where it just gets dismissed. i agree, nice sig:boxing:

mosley is ranked #1 at the moment followed by cotto at #2 and margarito at #3. Can't really argue with that. me neither

If by Cotto ya mean P Williams then I agree wit ya oh dont get me wrong...paul williams is my favorite fighter...and if he was still a welterweight he'd be the best but since he's not...it has to be cotto. i think a lot of ppl forget just how good cotto is.

yeah i said it. he only lost to margarito because of a non existent game plan and his plumber/trainer the only welter i can see beating cotto is perhaps clottey but thats speculation. a lot of ppl threw cotto away after the marg fight...forgettin how he got to the top. well...its time to remember he's the best welter.... let it soak in If by Cotto ya mean P Williams then I agree wit ya

I think he is the best but he needs to prove it, Although he beat Mosley already Mosleys top dog right now

I think he will be back at the top without any questions by the end of the year. But right now hes at #2 behind Mosley.

i agree in terms of actual boxing i dont see anyone better Mosley fights at various weights, Williams has a massive advantage from height, Tony because of his durability, Clottey would probably be second. When I say this I mean purely in terms of their boxing ability

To be the man you have to beat the man. Mosley beat the man (margarito) who beat the man (Cotto). Mosley is offically the best welteweight in the world.

Cotto is the most Talented at Welter, that I can agree with Cotto "fanatics". But he's not the best right now. why isnt he the best right now?

Shane Mosley is good, but people are forgetting he had a bad showing vs Mayorga where he was losing at some point and won by a last second k.o. When guys are old you just don't know what they'll give you. Other fighter that people are forgetting is Andre Berto. He fought a tough fighter in Collazo in which that many people saw him beat Hatton. Berto started the fight in a bad step , but finish of very good. But i'm not sure he would be able to do that if he was older. So he should start looking for bigger fights now and not later. Mosley's excuse for his poor showing against Mayorga was that he had blisters on his feet.

Cotto is a very good ww,but until he beats Margarito in the rematch and fights Clottey,I'd say the best ww is still a toss up between the top 4 or 5 ww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree.. But Cotto has to fight his fight this time. Not like Mosley. He kept boxing like he was 6/10. He is the shorter guy.. Get inside, work the body, go up stairs then clinch. Everytime he moved away from Margo in the first fight, he got hit.

I would like to see the Cotto-Margarito rematch!.. I still think Cotto is the best welter, but there has to be a rematch. This time Cotto will go to the body like he was supposed to in the first fight. I think Mosley just has Margs style figured out. He grew up in Cali fighting these type of fighters. Cotto doesn't clinch and is not as strong as Mosley. I dont mean power but physical strength. Mosley was pushing Marg around in there.
