I wrote this in another thread like a week ago but how can you not have a Countdown for Margarito-Mosley. What makes it even more crazy is that HBO obviously was in love with Margarito at the time so for them not to have a Countdown means that they think Mosley had totally fell off. It was a great day for Boxing obviously since the house was packed, the stars were out, and ESPN did a good job at covering the fight but I just think that it couldve even been bigger if they wouldve gave it a Countdown. Mosley deserves that with his HOF career and his recent big wins and Margarito deserved it with him being one of the top guys in boxing at the time. Not a 24/7 but just a Countdown, espically considering the fact that you know how these guys fight and will make it action packed.
PS- One thing that was strange/funny/sad about that fight was that Margarito obviously packed the house with the Mexicans and thats all you heard but when you just watch the fight and see the people cheering, all you can really see is the Mosley fans because it was like they were rich and had all the close seats while the Mexicans had the seats further away. Did anyone else catch that? Its like all the front 5-10 rows were Mosley fans and then the rest were Margarito fans
I wouldn't have minded a countdown for the fight, but it wasn't a PPV and a lotta cats thought SSM had no chance for some reason, so I can see why they didn't do it.
I made the comment because I have watched the fight like a hundred times and for some reason the seats stood out to me more then any other fight and Im a guy who always looks at the crowd because I want to see the fans reaction to the fight. I seriously dont think I have ever saw a fight where one guy had pretty much all the crowd but you couldnt find them represented on the normal TV screen. Someone said it happeneds all the time but I dont buy that. Obviously theres a difference between rich & poor but Ive seen a ton of minority fights where the guy with the most fans still has a good amount up front but in this fight you couldnt hardly find any. It was so weird.
It had nothing to do with how the fight was going because you can still easily see who was for who. A normal comment like this about race is uncessary but I dint make it because of that. It was more of just a weird thing to me and thats why I sticks out so much in my mind. It just really stands out on the screen. Again, Im a guy who watches things back to see the crowd reaction and thats probably why it caught my eye so much. It would be like a black guy fighting a white person, the black fans dominate the crowd 80-20 and are cheering crazy, but all you see in the normal HBO fight view is all white fans cheering for the white guy. Thats how it seemed to me. Not so much about the race but about the weirdness of it. It was almost like, where are all the Margarito fans when thats all you heard in the pre fight? Again, Im not talking about them being quiet because he was losing. The first few rows were clearly all Mosley fans and they probably had more Mosley fans in those few rows then they did in the whole rest of the building combined. Thats what stuck out to me
Hey easy man. I think there just messing about. I think they've formed a pact against you. They know you're not being racist.:lurk:
Was his comment outright racist? No it wasn't.
Could the thread of been just as successful without mentioning that? Yes!
Doesn't every major boxing match have rich white people in the front rows only?
YES!!!

I disagree about the Mexicans in the back comment. Most Mexican hardcore fans like to sit next to each other. That is in the back cuz its hard to afford 100's of tickets next to each other in the front. On the floor it was probably 60 to 40 Margarito fans. In the crowd it was more like 75 to 25 Margarito fans. The reason you didn't see or hear most of them is because Margarito didn't give them anything to cheer for.

OMG, are you guys serious? Before I made this I said that I shouldnt even do it because I bet that alot of people will take it the wrong way since its hard to explain over the internet but I swear I did not mean it as a racist post and Im not even a guy who says "I swear". I was trying to say it as something that would be on Real Sports or something. I just thought it was weird how before the fight you heard the crowd seemingly be like 80-20 for Margarito if not more but if you just watch the normal fight and look at the rows thats in the picture, they were mostly all Mosley fans. It was just a weird thing

Damage has been done, my friend
Christ, with some of the shit people say on here, this is the kind of thing getting reported for racism? Go look at KingChile, that dude is a serious racist. I don't think DLT is a racist he brought up a touchy subject that he probably should have just let rest. But seriously, there are guys that do much worse and don't get reported...

thats why I didnt even want to say it, clown. Im not racist at all but you dont want me to point it out? I didnt say it to be funny or to diss. I said it to really say it. It couldve been the same thing in a black area. Ticket prices are too high for all sporting events to where the common fan cant afford hardly any seats let alone good ones and thats why you see pretty much all whites or all rich people at sporting events despite majority of the atheletes being minorites
