Every time I see him, he's getting hurt by a body shot. The fight you mentioned above he could barely stand after body shots. Tracey Patterson knocked him down and OUT with a body shot in their rematch but the ref improperly called it a low blow. Floyd, Manfredy, and countless other examples.

I'm not talking about opinion I'm talking about fighters that are recognized by boxing writers and critics. Also why would you mention heavyweights? If there is a division that needs to go to the body more than any other division it's the heavyweight division. Watch the Gatti fights, where Arturo ripped into Ward all night with body shots. Ward never flinched from the body attack. Watch Chris Byrd against Jameel McCline, McCline pounded on Byrd's body and Byrd didn't even offer back any counters, he just took the shots. Watch Muhammad Ali versus George Chuvalo, he invited Chuvalo to hit him to the body. He said that a boxer couldn't be hurt to the body, however crazy that was, but it showed in the fact that he never went to the body.

i know it's become a cool thing around here to talk shit about marg but really, who's got an "iron body" in the sense that they can take a mean ass body shot? almost no one! so i dont know why some of you are making it seem like you've reinvented the wheel by pointing out that marg was hurt to the body. ???????????????????????????????

you would think margarito would eventually learn the pattern and maybe fire back a shot of his own but i think he actually was moving in slow motion. lol.

that jab to the gut was perfect and mosley stuck to it all night. its rare you see such a flawless game plan executed so well and that works so perfectly. nazim richardson should get a nobel prize. In the last round close to when he KO'ed him it looked like Mosley hit him with a good body shot and he had to hold onto the rope for a sec to gather himself but I could be wrong...

Mosley was killing him with body shots. The one in the first round was soo ****in sneaky and it hurt Marg. When i saw it live it was murder, my cuz and i were wondering why no one noticed it live.

l definately agree... This was a good thread...surprised theres no die hard margo fans saying otherwise...but regardless i agree that hard body shots is what did him in...now if only cotto comes w the same game plan i think margo will be down in 5 rounds...only bc nobody throws a body shot the way he can...plus u have to consider the last 2 fights have been extremely rough for tony

Exactly. No matter how good of a chin a fighter has, if his body is broken, then the head will soon follow.

And which is why Mayweather would have beaten Margarito too. His main focus is to the body, attack the body non-stop...Mosley implemented Mayweather's patented jab to the body. More credit to Mosley though, he throws combinations unlike Floyd, and he stepped in the ring to fight also. That was Mosley's best performance. ...But he didn't, Mayweather never fought Margarito so all you can do is speculate and hypothesize. We do know, however, that Mosley could knock Margarito out.

You guyz know your stuff. I am not as politically correct as you all, but I agree. I always maintained that Latinos cannot take a good body shot. Head shots they absorb like nothing. Cotto, Chavez, Morales, now Margorito all wilted after a sustained body attack. That is basically the key in beating a Latino fighter...Mosley did a good job there.
