Do you think they will release photos of the plaster-like evidence? (I'm sure the Commission won't, but maybe somebody can leak it?)
I'm really curious to see what was found inside Margarito's gloves. There's articles out there that quote Brother Nazim Richardson as decribing the objects that fell out of the gloves as "a little block of gauze-like plaster."
It would be interesting to know how "little" these blocks were to get a better idea of how someone could sneak it into a wrap.
Now before people start getting their panties in a bunch about this post, let me state clearly that this is by no means a way of justifying cheating or trying to downplay the alleged incident. I'm NOT trying to say if they find Marg guilty (if they do), "Oh, well, he didn't cheat that bad! They were just little blocks!" Like an ex-girlfriend once stated, "Cheating is cheating. Gettin' head counts too."
I just want to get a better perspective on things. Because if I was just a casual fan and I came on here I'd be reading stuff like Marg had cinder blocks in his hands, which makes me think they poured cement into hollow gloves until they were full. (And, no I'm not a complete idiot, "little" cinder blocks can hurt too.)
Really, like I said, I'm just curious to see. Also, another thing that's confusing is that Richardson is quoted as saying after feeling one of the wraps, "Oh my goodness, this is too hard," but I thought illegal wraps start off wet and harden later in the fight? (Marg is known for coming back in second half of bouts. But if the wrap feels hard before the fight wouldn't that mean Marg would be more effective in earlier rounds during his career?)
Richardson continues saying that "when they unwrapped the other hand, another one fell out. It was wet with a little plaster on it." I admit, it's confusing to me how plaster works since it's weird that something gets hard when it gets wet (unless we're talking about your girl polishing your pole). But I thought cheaters relied on the sweat from inside the glove to make the plaster wet later in the fight so it's not detected earlier if there's a pre-fight inspection?
Oh, and I'm new, so please all you p4p posters please don't knock me out in the first round.
Thanks.
P.S. If anybody does bother responding to this post, I'm sure some will post pictures of cement blocks. This is a tough neighborhood, I know.
It would be nice to see the photos. I read an article from the NY times i believe that quoted Naseem saying there was no blood on the "plaster like substance".
Wait, was that a typo, or are you saying that Nazim is now saying there wasn't blood as previously reported?
Thanks.
You see, this is what I'm getting at... (no offense to kswizzy...especially with a breath-taking sig like...my eyes thank you). Richardson described whatever fell out as "little," but we keep joking about how he had bricks in there, which brings to mind Roberto Duran's nickname... Marg literally had "manos de piedra" is what people are saying. But what did he really actually have in the gloves, dammit? What does it look like?
Look, all these accusations is the most serious you can get in boxing. And the evidence looks stacked against Marg. People automatically bring up Resto, and for good reason. But just having watched stuff about the Panama Lewis incident (thank you to whoever posted the footage in another thread, but be warned its freaking brutal to watch), I guess... I guess, if I'm going to be totally honest with myself, that I want to know (or feel) that what Marg is accused of doing wasn't as bad as what Resto did. (I know, that's like saying, "Hey you shot me, but at least you didn't stab me", right? Damn.)
Now I know that might sound stupid to a lot of people and might catch hell for it, but this whole thing got me a little depressed thinking about it so much. For the sake of Cotto and all the other fighters that MIGHT have been affected by dirty tactics, I guess I kinda hope that if Marg did cheat, at least he didn't go overboard with it and only used something "little." Why? Because maybe that way the unnecessary damage caused to Cotto and other fighthers (IF Marg did it), then might not be as bad as it could have been. (I know, I know, it's still pain and damage.)
And I guess I'm just trying to find a way to lessen, even to the slightest degree, the huge-ass disappointment I feel for Marg for being caught up in this mess.
But in the end, it's really just about knowing all the facts. And hoping boxing figures out a way to actually do its job and protect fighters.

I agree I'd like to see how big it is too (no homo). Probably big enough to cover the knuckles is what I would imagine.
Ha ha. That was funny.
So basically, it's like having brass knuckles...
The california boxing said that is the case is true, capetillo and margarito and other will be suspended and fines will be given , maybe others things will be added. nevada said that they will follow whatever california decide, and maybe others states will follow, that means that eventually margarito will be ban to fight in the United states.
So are you saying that no matter what they find it to be, he still might be fined or suspended?
the true is that they found something that was not supose to be in there
