I aint on his **** or nothing but I want to know who can beat him. First everyone thought it was Cotto until he was dominated. Then it was his vanquisher, Margarito who could air out the p4p champ. And we know what happened to him on Saturday. And for those still hoping that Margarito can get it done I have an observation for you. You have to admit that Cotto was perplexing Magarito with his technique for the first few rounds. So just imagine how Mayweather's superior boxing skill would destroy Margarito...
Floyd is a great technical fighter, but he hasn't shown what he can do against any #1 guy in years, there's no denying that.
I credit him for beating Oscar and Hatton, but in no way were those guys the best fighters he could've fought (or still can fight). Now I'm not saying that every guy that comes along will be the next guy to beat Floyd, but it's no secret Mosley & Cotto have been in the running for close to 2 years (maybe 3-4 yrs for Mosley) and Floyd hasn't budged to take a fight with either one of them (which would be huge W's on his resume)
Floyd could beat both of them, but Cotto and Mosley both can too. Both fights make huge money just off the hype its been building for years. The question is whether Floyd's camp wants to take the risk. I think it's safe to say all his safe fights are over and done with. If he does return, the comp level will be at an all time high for Floyd...and that's all I wanna see (win or lose).
No #1 guys. Hatton was top 5 p4p when they fought. Oscar was the jr mw champ, who beat the champ in Mayorga. Cotto was just stepping up to Mosley at the time. Margarito always was just hype and he lost to Williams. Everyine wanted Hatton and thought Hatton had what it takes to win. No #1 guys....hilarious!
In light of saturday its hard to pick Margarito to win but I honestly think it's a different fight than the Baldomir fight. Marg is taller than Baldomir, and has a better chin IMO. Without getting pushed backwards and clinched, the way Mosley was able to achieve which is a result of his Mosley's strength I think Margorito is much more effective. I think it's false to judge margarito by his domination of Cotto but I also think it's false to treat Margarito as a clubfighter b/c of Mosley's domination over him. I do agree with DJR005's picks. Pacman, Williams and Cotto would give PBF most trouble. I think PBF is bothered more by speed(Pacquiao) than pressure. Cotto has a bit of both so he would also be a good candidate.
i question if Margarito chin is better than Baldomir. Forrest dropped relentless bombs on Baldomir and he was still their and this was at jr MW. And this is the same forrest who almost KOed Mosley when he was in his prime. Me personally, Margarito couldn't touch or hurt what he can't hit. Mosley isn't really known for defense, couple that with Margarito no defense....Floyd UD him 10 out of 10 times. Skillwise Margarito just can't compare...witnessed by mostly who is a step or two slower than Mayweather.

The floyd ducking mosley stuff is bullshit. Watch Floyd vs Henry Brussels at 140 pounds, he calls Mosley out live on the post fight interview with larry merchant. Then he wanted to fight mosley after the DLH fight i think, and mosley started talking about toothache and didnt wanna know.
Floyd also said a few times that cotto wanted none of him, he said every time cotto was asked about him he would say "I only fight who my promoter wants me to fight" and that cotto wouldnt call him out live on tv, so its not purely a one way thing as to why those fights havent happened.
I semi-agree in that one of the only chances to beat floyd comes by establishing a jab.
Personally, for me floyd has way too much technique for the names you mentioned, i honestly dont believe we have seen his maximum potential because he hasnt ever really been tested to the limits.
Like i have said before, many people get the wrong idea about floyd and assume he is all speed, its not, his timing is insane and fighters just cannot read him at all.
There is a video of him on youtube explaining some of his tactics, he explains how he changes rhythms mid fight so fighters cant work him out and how he times a punch according to when the other guy is least going to expect it.
Technically he is very deep, and to be honest, he could just run around the ring jabbing guys for 12 rounds, but he has so much more to his skillset.

Shit at its best.
not even! look, mayweather is great, wait dont want retype so ima rephrase this bitch. mayweather WAS great, but he shouldn't have left so early. he was my favorite boxer and i believed he could have gone further with his career. him retiring is just hella disappointing. what he needs to do is come back and prove that he's up there with the top 10 ATG.
but yeah, i still think PACQUIAO would beat him tho. it'd be a close ass match but i'll give it to manny if they were ever to face.
he sho woullddddd!!!! you fukcers underestimate the lil fukcer! floyd's all talk til he comes out of retirement!! he's a bitch til he steps in the ring and he's damn well NOTHING to boxing til he proves himself. he left proving NOTHING. just coz he was unbeatin does not mean shizzznaaappp! as far as im concerned, Pacquiao is best fighter of the decade. NOT Mayweather.
Shit at its best.
Lol yea midget Manny would stop Floyd at 147? Good one

The thing with Floyd if you're comparing him to guys like Cotto or Mosley is they're not afraid to brawl if they have to, they're finishers.
I've been saying for a while that Floyd has problems with fighters who utilize their jab and Cotto without a doubt has one of the best jabs in the business. That along with his style IMO could pose a threat to Floyd. Cotto is a lot smarter in the ring than people think and he can change his game plan throughout the fight.
Mosley, Pac, Cotto = Should be Floyd's next 3 opponents. Those names with a W next to them would be astonishing.

i believe Cotto, Mosley, and Pacquiao has a good chance at beating him and just coz Margo dominated Cotto doesn't mean Floyd can. Cotto still has the boxing skills that can match up with Floyds, just like Pacquiao and Mosley. They all have the skills that can match up with Floyds.

There's only one way to find this out if only Mayweather would come out of retirement and take on the Pacman. JAT
Yeah, but no way is mayweather afraid of Pacquaio, Iv'e heard floyd talk about him in many interviews, he respects him as a fighter, but thinks he would destroy him.
And if floyd did Murder manny, everyone would say "Manny is too small, floyd never fights true welters, he's dodging margarito, he dont wanna fight mosley" etc.
Words of Wisdom: never say never and don't place all your faith on the favorite pick. JAT
I never said never, im just saying Mayweather may seriously hurt Manny if those two fight, I reckon it could be interesting for a few rounds, but Manny is just wide open for the right hand lead and jabs, plus mayweather would hook to the body, could be interesting for a few rounds, but realistically, Manny could get punished.
People may laugh but I think that Juan Manuel Marquez has a better chance at stopping Money than Paquiao, Cotto, or any of the big guys.
Its going to take someone with both skill and heart to take him down.
no fuggin way. jmm is way too small. theres no way jmm would stop floyd. you have a better chance to nail megan fox than jmm has to stop floyd.
floyd ud jmm and may even get a late tKO.

c'mon, baldomir = margarito.
pac is too small for pbf.
cotto doesnt have the stamina.
mosley + naazim is a tough combo though.
The Pacman will defeat Mayweather once they meet in the ring but I've read that Floyd doesn't want a fight with him. Mayweather could be running scared of the Pacman's Fury. JAT
You can't run away from a fighter when your retired, Floyd can no longer be accused of ducking someone unless he publicly states his return
P.S......Floyd/Mosley would be more competitive than Floyd/Ping Ping
Although i would rather see Floyd/Ping Ping as it decides the fighter of the decade

What do you think about Mosley, do you think he has a legitimate chance of beating Floyd. outside of Zelenoff its hard seeing anyone beating a complete boxer like Floyd
Mosley fought well on Sat night, but mayweather is a completley different ball game, shane knows it too, thats why his toothache played up when mayweather wanted the big money fight. He makes way too many mistakes, and mayweather himself has said those very words himself in past interviews. If shane honestly thinks he can walk in head up-hands low against mayweather without getting hit and if he thinks he can lean away from a mayweather right hand, he is very mistaken.
Shane is a good fighter, but reflexes only take you so far, mayweather is all about timing, once he times the right hand, i dont think shane would see it coming at all, especially when he tries to close distance. Then there is mayweather's underrated body work and the counter left hook.
The Pacman will defeat Mayweather once they meet in the ring but I've read that Floyd doesn't want a fight with him. Mayweather could be running scared of the Pacman's Fury. JAT
Word of warning, if you can barley Handle Juan Manuel Marquez, stay away from a guy like mayweather, especially at 147.
