people think it was the head shots that lead to the destruction of margarito...but it if yalll pay attention carefully on the 8th round, it was a huge uppercut to the body that that started margo to back down..he was rly hurt...not the head shot that he took...margo missed a left hook and he was countered by a right uppercut...check it out
I think it was Mosleys aggressive night that surprised Margarito and cought him off guard, everytime Mosley landed,he kept moving forward and throwing, instead of landing and backing off!!
As soon as I saw Margarito's knees buckle ever so slightly in the first round from that thunderous body shot I knew this was going to be Shane's big night.
Nobody has ever really done that to Tony before in the first round, and it was a slippery slope from then on.
I agree. Margarito was shaken by that right hand to the body in the first round, you could tell. and I think the body work of Mosley had a huge effect on the punch resistance of Margarito, because he actually does roll with the punches often and takes the steam off of them. its just a slight motion, but it helps him out. there was no upper body movement whatsoever last night.
you could say the body work also stopped Margarito from ever getting started. his punch output was surprisingly low for him.
Ultimately it was the huge left hook that was the end for Margarito, and the follow up punches to the head...but Shane's body work was the thing that caused his head shots to be so effective.
I would think it was his last fight against Cotto that took some juice out of his chin, but who knows could have been the body shot or accumulation of punches to the head
