well sometimes it doesnt make sense because the money isnt right... i mean honestly ...when did floyd really make a name for himself??? probably after the delahoya fight? before that ... he was a nobody... if floyd would have fought shane at 135 in his prime... when shane was super fast and super strong ??? he would have walk through floyd mayweather...
when did floyd chase mosley?
a couple years ago when shane went through a couple of losses?
man , don't make it seem like floyd was gunning for mosley and mosley ducked him.
mosley has fought the best of the best. mayweather hasn't fought the best since his 135 days. give me a break.
when did floyd want to fight him? AFTER mosley was going through a few losses and a rough patch in his career.
It's one of many reasons Floyd broke away from Arum.
It's not highly publicized, but well known in boxing circles that Floyd challenged Shane but Shane had a more important date with a "tooth ache".
Floyd would've blown up bigger than the rest earlier if he didn't have promotional restrictions in the beginning of his career.
My whole issue with Mosley beating Mayweather is that if you can force Mosley off his plan A, he is not nearly as good when you make him go to his plan B or C. Now the fighters that really made Mosley look bad are a lot bigger then Mayweather so he would have to go about things in his own way.
It is an interesting fight though, and although I favor Floyd, I would not count out Mosley (now or in the past I would favor Floyd, except for when the fight was first discusses when Floyd was 130 and Mosley was 135 Mosley would have to be the favorite at that time but I still think it could go either way).
i'd love to see this fight, does cotto need to avenge his loss to margarito before he can fight mosley? i'm not sure.
give me floyd - mosley and i'll be happy anyway.
Pressure has always given Floyd problems. Shane not only presents pressure, but it's pressure with fast hands and power, an improved version of Castillo, Shane would probably lose a close fight to Floyd today, but prime for prime he beats Floyd.
Epic fight that would go to the scorescards. I thought Shanes fight with Cotto was epic. I think Floyd does certain things better than Cotto but Shanes preparations for Floyd would make a difference as well. Its a tough fight to call but I would LOVE to see it.
i wouldn't say slick. when i think slick i think of movers.
their jabs gave shane problems because of their length.
my definition of slick ..is anyone who uses the jab ... and doesnt fight like a mexican fighter :) (except juan manuel marquez) hopkins, winky, forrest, all slick fighters ..
they are both crafty boxers and have good jabs...

Floyd could provide some problems for Mosley at this point. Mosley gets countered a lot by boxer of Floyd's caliber. But Shane would still be quick, stronger, more powerful and the angles he fights at could pose trouble for Floyd. He also will have a significant weight advantage.
Good answer. But, have to disagree with him beating Floyd earlier in his career.
Floyd chased Mosley before giving up on fighting him at all.

who are the slick boxers shane lost too?
what bothers shane is length.
forrest is very tall and long. winky while not that tall is also long.

shane loses to people who are slick boxers ...
floyd
winky wright ...
he beats everyone who just fights in front of him ...
so yea...floyd would probably win a UD- or SD ...
but i still want to see it ...
i dont think shane would lose any credibility even if he lost ...shane is at the end of his career ....if they would have fought in shanes prime he would have destroyed floyd ...no problem

I always thought so.
shane has the power advantage.
shane's hand are pretty fast.
shane has a very good chin.
shane has a heart and tough as nails.
floyd fights very slow guys especially above 135 which enhances people's view on his speed and skills.
shane is no arturo gatti or carlos baldomir.
