I don't see his reputation being varnished if he is innocent. This is such a black and white issue: were his hands wrapped in plaster or were they not? They have the wraps. If they are plaster he is guilty if they are not he is innocent. If you are saying he could still be innocent because he "did not know" his hands were wrapped in plaster, that is ridiculous. Anyone who has ever had their hands wrapped knows the difference, and as the guy in the ring he is ultimately responsible for what goes on his hands. Exactly. It should be fairly easy to prove innocence/guilt in this case unless the commision fucks up the evidence.

I could not agree more, if his wraps were loaded, he and everyone that knew about it should NEVER be associated with boxing again. Unfortunately, there are too many sanctioning bodies and too many countries that will host a fight. I hate the lack of unity in boxing reg. for exactly this reason. Even if he cheated I bet he fights again (which is insane).

Since this case is very well documented and well-known in the sport I must say I believe Margarito & co. should be very harshly sentenced (if guilty) also to discourage anyone in the future.
