Did Margarito use Illegal Handwraps to beat Cotto? Poll!

i would love for antonio margarito to rematch miguel cotto and beat him again and also to knock out kermit the ''frog '' cintron and then fight clottey so there wont be any excuses or bullcrap about the handwraps helping him its stupid:boxing: he won't get a chance if the handwraps were illegal or it turns out he was taking a dive as per the cartels.

This is what the margarito people claim. He used the same wraps that he would use during training. Yes gauze gets hard and stiff when it is filled with sweat and persperation. Throughout the course of a fight the gauze in a fighters glove will stiffen. Since SUPPOSSELY margarito has been using the same piece of gauze from training it becomes harder and stiffer over time and they used it to protect his knuckles on fight night. This is not illegal. Gauze goes on the skin followed by tape. For all we know this might have been the "plaster like" substance that richardson made a big deal out of. That is why the commission is investigating. Let's wait for the facts and see if he really cheated or not.

You say if someone gets away with doing something illegal it's wrong and I agree, but you don't know if he did anything wrong yet. How can you even argue when the facts are not in yet? IF margarito is found guilty I will be the first to condemn him. At the end of the day you still don't know what happened. if he did it aginst Mosley, he definitely did it against Cotto. Now that i think about it...cintron and shotgun gomez should complain too! What about Lujan, he knocked dudes ear off... Most likely this is just something they tried for this fight and just got caught, because you see what the result was... like Mosley said before the fight was made... " Maybe Margarito pissed his pants", when he found out mosley took the fight... So they tried to add some bricks to his gloves to help KO a man that has never been KO'd, because he knew damn well he couldn't out box Mosley... I guess Margarito was no longer the most feared man in the Welterweight division once Sugar Shane returned... The only person with a higher KO percentage in the division is Cotto...

If someone is a good thief....they are still wrong. If someone gets away with murder ..they are still killers. If someone steals 28 cars and is busted stealing the 29 because it had low jack....doesn't make the owners of the 28 stupid because they didn't have lowjack. It seems pretty obvious to me. Why would he not cheat against someone who was supposed to be a tougher opponent (cotto) and risk cheating against someone who was supposedly less of an opponent (mosley)??

You act like this was their first fight......Im sure they know what to look for...if it was ok or normal ..they would have never forced him to re wrap. Yea but richardson was really adamate about the situation (that it was an illegal substance) which convinced the commission to do the investigation and made margarito rewrap his hands. How about the cotto camp or the NSAC not finding anything illegal when everyone was there to witness the wrapping of the hands? Again i'm not defending margarito IF he did anything illegal.

Like I said earlier in this thread. We cannot know. Obviously this is impossible. But if I were to poll the same group of people on whether or not Michael Jackson has had innappropriate contact with small children, I'm sure there would be a similar result. Do they know for a fact that Michael was being "Bad" or not? No but it seems very likely. Could they Prove OJ killed Nicole Simpson in the criminal case? No but I think the general public believes he was guilty. We'll find out soon enough if he cheated against Mosley, and this topic will either be completely moot or way more heated. All this is based on the results of the CSAC which aren't even in yet. If they say it was plaster then he is guilty but people jump to conclusions. It could be the same gauze that he uses during training which forms to the shape of his hands and does become harder. This is not illegal though, gauze is gauze. All gauze gets hard with persperation and such. Many idiots say its plaster and it gets hard with the sweat and such but plaster is already hard and it doesn't get harder with persperation. Wait for the results folks then we'll judge.
