He was caught with some padding in this fight against mosley. Theres no proof he did it in other fights, and if he did the other camps watch his hands being wrapped and they never said anything.
On the other hand you had Mosley use steroids to beat dlh.
What is a bigger offense? Using steroids or using a padding in your gloves?
Congrats to Mosley on stopping Margarito

They never disputed that it wasn't it wasn't theirs. They never even really disputed that it was getting hard. According to them..... it was "regular" gauze that got wet/damp and got hard.

How can you possibly be cheating by taking a substance that at the time, is not illegal.
So if somewhere down the line, athletic commissions decide that creatine should be deemed an illegal substance, should everyone who used creatine prior to that be punished ?
I don't think so.
It was taken under the impression that it was just another supplement, and at the time, it was. You can't blame anyone for that except for the athletic commissions who at the time failed to recognize this.
They are both cheaters and both are going to have a cloud over their respective careers.
The only difference is Mosley took roids and the kind he took were to help him with his stamina (which by the way was the difference in the oscar 2 fight)
and Tony was punching with loaded gloves
both cheated both are guilty
but mosley wasnt in danger of hurting anyone maybe even killing them
Tony was
that is a huge difference.
:boxing:
Mosley never failed the piss test and was therefore, never actually caught cheating. The shit hit the fan when Balco was investigated.
Margarito on the other hand, was caught trying to cheat with loaded wraps, red-handed. There is really no wiggle room on his part to play the dullard.
I guess we can probably put it this way. Mosley is a supposed cheater 6 years ago, and Margarito was caught in the act with this pants down.
Lets not talk about Margarito for now. Just in general there is cheating and breaking rules and there is breaking Taboo's.
Every sport has its own Taboo. For example, football/baseball players this year and probably next year are going to have stuff like,
Late hitting/Cheap Shots/guys trying to intentionally injure other guys. Tested positive for drugs, steroids or masking agents, hell even murder trials...etc
These are all breaking the rules but they are nothing compared to if a player was caught breaking the Taboo rule of these sports i.e. found guilty of Point Shaving, Throwing games, gambling on games you played or participated in. Why then he would be completely ostracized.
Look at Pete Rose. One of the very very very best players to ever play the game. But bet on Baseball, life time ban. Having foreign substance(s) in your gloves and loading them is a boxing Taboo not just a rule.
steroids do not help you in boxing ...unless.. your a small heavyweight and need to gain alot of weight.. steroids take your power and speed and flexablity away from you .. plaster in your gloves makes you the second coming of jack dempsey who also used plaster in his gloves
Mosley passed the lie detector test which did indicate that he didn't know what he was taking.. Margarito knew his hands where being wrapped illegaly.
Wait so Margarito only needs to pass a lie detector test, so he can be universally excepted as innocent?
tony was caught with it.
having ROCKS in your fists is the more offense.
steroids just help you PERFORM BETTER.
yeah and in the sport of boxing, performing better means teeing off on your opponent.
I love how some are ready to hang, draw and quarter Margarito for his alleged attempt to cheat, whereas Mosley's proven use of illegal steroids is excused away.
On Mosley; first, he admitted to injecting himself with EPO, which puts him in the same bracket as disgraced drugs cheats like Marion Jones and Ben Johnson. In my view, he's lucky he's still allowed to box at this level. He says he didn't know what he what he was doing, but I personally find that hard to believe. Most others caught up in the BALCO scandal have admitted they knew what they were doing, and Victor Conte, too, claims Mosley knowingly took the illegal steroids.
Second, passing a polygraph test is usually not admissible as evidence in court, so that alone doesn't prove his innocence. Third, he didn't volunteer the information, he was testifying before a grand jury and had the choice between coming clean or perjuring himself.
One is a proven cheat, the other deserves the benefit of the doubt for now.
passing a lie dectector test clears mosley.. plus , i belive the steroids were a detrement to mosley he should have never went about 140 and he would have never lost a fight
Not only that but he looked worse at the higher weights. Peace
And my IQ was mesured 2 times once 134 and then 140 even. So that kinda sets me apart from most of yall.
Really? Thank goodness that they never checked your piss poor spelling and grammar.
Somehow not realizing Mosley's case remotes to 2000 and Margarito's case was CAUGHT today. Officially and until further notice Mosley won CLEANLY whereas Margarito DID TRY TO CHEAT. It beats me how can someone with an IQ over 94 even try to make an argument on that trying to cloud Mosley's vict... oh wait i say IQ over 94 didn't I. So it's kind of what one would expect. nah that is normal IQ for an average person I think.
But 198 will set you apart from anyone
I think that injecting something in you guts could indicate that it is more than a multivitmen thingy.
But at the end of the day if texanballer wants to argue about Mosely Margy cheater then he would take away Mosely win even if he tries to put this thread 5 years contentious running.

9 YEARS. That fight was 9 years ago and he was a man about it. He confessed. How many did never confess??? Who can guarantee me, Margarito's inhuman punch resistance isn't due to some experimental illegal drug he NEVER CONFESSED taking?
You're thinking about the wrong fight. The 1st fight with De La Hoya in Staples back in 2000 was won fair and square by Mosley. It was the rematch in 2003 that was called into question. Shane was bigger for the rematch and actually much slower.
