I picked against Sugar tonight...just felt after his fight with Cotto he didn't have it in him to hold off a strong pressure fighter but he put on a SUPER performance, a performance that rivals B-Hops over K-PAV and PAC over DeLaHoya as showing off the year...but also it shines a big light on Naazim...many are just seeing him from his work with B-Hops and now Sugar but Naazim has been around the Hops camp for years and the amateur ranks for many years, too....in the amateurs -I first met him in 1994 at the nationals out in Cincinnati- his three sons (Tiger, Bear and Rock) and his two nephews (Karl and Michael Dargan) piled up tons of big victories over the likes of Ricardo Williams (well, Rock got robbed against him), Paulie Malignaggi and Kelly Pavlick.
Naazim might get Trainer Of The Year of this if his showing stay on course for the rest of 2009...
Ahhhhh....and out comes Scully's alter egos, jumping to his defense. This happened at the ESPN forum too. People got sick of Scully's crap and he started creating all of these alter egos to fight his battles. The webmaster at ESPN had it pinned within minutes. Nice try, Skullee...
Son, there is no need to lay a fowl tongue, young man. I'll have you bounced right off this forum.
As for John Scully, if he was a somebody in boxing, he wouldn't be wasting his time in forums, trying to impress a bunch of nobodies. I am far more respected in the boxing community than he is, trust me on that. Get your facts straight, son.
Who are you WildBilly with your 20 some odd posts and if you are so big then why do you havbe to put someone down to feel better about yourself? I say we all ignore this walking garbage can and move on....Lefty
I'm still buzzing about this fight this morning. I just showed the fight to the guys at work and it's my third time watching it. I love it when I watch a fight that keeps me this excited. What a masterpiece by Shane Mosley and great guidance by Nazim Richardson. I think Richardson is on his way to becoming trainer of the year. Whatever he's doing with his fighters is a thing of beauty. I look forward to seeing what fighter he can bring the best out of next. Congrats to Shane and Nazim.

Didn't you tell me it would be a bad idea for Shane to push Margo around?
First memory of Nazim Richardson was in the latter rounds of the Tito fight, where you can hear him tell Bernard, "You've got it champ, it's in the computer!" Love that line. Richardson is an excellent communicator and his advice has been spot on every time I see him in the corner. What an asset for a fighter to have.
Snoopy...
Why are you asking Scully his opinion? Scully is a third-rate fighter and a third-rate trainer. His opinion and a dollar might get you a token on the subway...
Mosley's victory was paramount in that it kept afloat the last man standing from the elite stars of the mid-90's. Oscar, Jones, Jr., Vargas, Trinidad - all those guys are shadows of their former selves. Bernard can still bang a little, but Floyd has moved onto better things. Shane might be the last superstar of years past who can keep the spotlight on our beloved sport. His win over Margarito was a thing of beauty.
hey dick smoker! don't disrespect ice!

After watching the Cotto-Mosely highlight reel before last nights fight, I had a feeling Mosely would cause Margarito all kinds of problems.
Mosely hurt Cotto a few times in that fight.

Definitely a great performance, I didn't realize how good a trainer Richardson was until the Hopkins-Pavlik fight, the instructions in the corner were great and the way he dissects his fighters' opponents is great, one of the most underrated trainers in boxing today, hopefully he gets the props he deserves.
I picked against Mosley too, mainly due to his age and his last performance but I was always saying I didn't know what to make of his last performance because of Mayorga's tactics and his ring rust so I was really not surprised that Mosley won but I was shocked at how easy he won.
just goes to show you never know in Boxing.... one of the many reason why i love the sport
WOOOO, Sugar Shane Mosley is a BAAAADDDD MANNN!!!
Shane did WORK on Margarito,
In the words of Larry Merchant: "Shane Mosley, I LOVE YOU!!!"
Shane vs. Manny Pac or May look like BIG events now, huh? Boxing is great the way it changes...after the Cotto loss who ever could have pictures Sugar being where he is right now..I'll tell you another thing...Shane tunrned pro 17 years ago...how many guys 17 years into a pro career put on a showing like that? Not many. Even the great Ali, 17 years after going pro, was less than par fighting against Shavers and Evangelista...RJ 17 years in was fighting Tarver...Shane is doing something now that MUST make PBF stand up and take notice...because last night is how you cement your legacy....not just by talkin about it...

I too admit I was wrong about my prediction, and lost 4 million points LOL.... its always worth it though... a fair trade for a great historic upset... i loved the fight
