It's on regular HBO rather than PPV, so the hype machine wasn't goin full blast. Didn't need to anyway. This fight is gonna be ill, the place sold out, and only a fool would miss it. :boxing:
I swear i haven't seen any commercial promoting mosley/margarito..
or am i just stupid that i need glasses??
I mean tv aint really into boxing. But the HBO ratings are going to be good and the arena turnout is very good. So, I mean the promoters shouldn't be slammed on this fight. They just didn't put together a great card. That's the one thing I'd rip them for.
That's funny, as this page was loading that was the exact same sentence I was going to write if someone had already posted my original thought.
hahahahaha
HBO has run a few spots over the last few days, but this is my main problem with boxing. Boxing is losing the younger generation due to not having enough free TV. Heck if you don't have HBO then you don't even get the fight. The Promoters have to step-up and start campaigning these up and coming fighters to free TV. Oh well enough rambling.........
I just think that fight promotion is a dead art nowadays. Here is the formula:
They take a big fight to get an HBO date, maybe even a decent co-main event, then stack the undercard with local ticket sellers in complete mismatches to fill the house.
Basically, it's the fighters who promote the show nowadays.

Tell me what fights are supporting the main event and you can pretty much find it out for yourself buddy LOL
Do you seriously think HBO is selling a PPV with Robert Guerrero vs. 21-loss Edel Ruiz, Saul Roman vs. Jose Varela, and then a bunch of prospects in 6-rounders?
If so, you're better off just giving me your money LOL
Do you seriously think i pay attention to boxing as much as you guys? :ugh:.

I forgot to punctuate with this

The only thing I seen was a 1 min weigh in shot of them sizing each other up on ESPN. And when I tell my boys I am going to the fight tonight they think I'm talking about Affliction in Anaheim.
Are you serious?.
You're right, the fight is a PPV. You send me $40 bucks and I'll tell the cable company people to let you watch it on regular HBO, OK?
You mean like on regular TV? Why, the fight isn't a PPV? I've seen some reminders on HBO for people to watch the fight but other than that, nothing.
The only fight promotion on TV of any consequence is in the LA area, where the fight is. That is the area where you're going to be selling all of your tickets. Running a commercial to sell tickets in NY would be wasted revenue for a fight in California.

i'm talking about tv commercials of the fight.
