The fight between Berto and Collazo,,,,,,,,,what a great way to start the year! I had Collazo winning by a couple. I don't have a problem with Berto getting the decision though. Especially after the last round. 116-111? That's getting ridiculous. I can't deal with this much longer and I'm sure many more of you are saying the same. I can assure you the MMA world is loving it though. They are benefiting from the obvious scams going on in the boxing world.
Yeah,
Close, action packed fights is exactly what will lose boxing fans. 12 rounds involving 2 highly skilled boxers, back and forth action, you're going to get some different scorecards.
And the UFC today was terrible. So if any sport is losing fans its the MMA crowd.
I think it is less about lossing fans as it is about not gaining many young fans. It has less to do with the scoring, which is sometimes suspect, but more to due with the younger generations. 3-5 rounds is all they can realy take without getting board. The marketing (match-ups, entertainment between fights) are all better than most boxing events as well. That and the fact that many of the casual fans think that the are tougher because it is closer to a "real" fight. I love the sport of boxing and enjoy MMA as well.

Me too I had Collazo winning by at least 3 rnds. Also the first 2 FNFs have sucked in a major way I am tired of the showcase bouts vs crap opposition but I still stick with boxing as I am a long time fight fan because once in a while you get a great fight. MMA btw sucks, with its rules its anyones fight and they still have lousy matchups most of the time.
