For whatever reason, fights that aren't really talked about as exciting, because of controversy, something, etc.
I just watched Vargas-Wright, and it was a really good fight. Neither fighter backed away much, and a lot of hard punches were thrown and landed.
The biggest one I can think of is Mayweather-Castillo I... No one ever talks about what a crowd pleasing fight that was, they just constantly bitch about or defend the decision to their deaths.
Barrera-Morales II is another one. A lot of people think that this fight isn't very good, because it didn't really compare to the first and third fights, which got Fight of the Year honors. I personally like this fight the best out of the trilogy, but I've heard a lot of people call this fight a "snoozer". :dunno:
What else can you think of?
Yep, absolutely. Actually, you could throw in all of Morales fights and they are all stunning. Morales/Chavez, Morales/Hernandez, Morales/Zaragoza, Morales/In-Jin Chi, and just about everything else he has fought in. Without doubt, one of the most exciting fighters of the twentieth century. :boxing:
yea you beat me to it..
morales vs chavez is another classic

I thought the Zaragoza fight was pretty good too, it started of a little slow, but one of the latter rounds where Morales momentarily hurts Zaragoza has to be one of the best rounds ive ever seen.
Round 9/10 i cant remember which one though.
Judah-Cotto was tight, even though it was really one-sided. Judah didn't win rounds after the second or so if I remember correctly.
Basically, yeah, I think we can agree he won the first two though and then...the...yeah, either way it was a good fight and I thought it was re-match worthy.
Eirk Morales vs Wanye McCullough.

Snipes vs Berbick
Mormeck vs Bell
Mormeck vs Braithwaite
Watson vs Eubank 2
Watson vs Benn
Earl vs Katsidis
Brewster vs Lyakhovich
Brewster vs Krasniqi
Holmes vs Snipes
Patterson vs Chuvalo
Frazier vs Quarry
Moore vs Durelle
Floyd Mayweather vs JEsus Chavez - classic fight in San Francisco, Ca.. there was toe to toe action, very exciting but it gets slept on by alot of peeps..
Hector Camacho vs Vinny Pazienza - that was another good exciting fight..
Bernard Hopkins vs Echols
Oh yeah I remembered that, I remember Bayless giving Fenech an "Are you ****in serious" look when he threw in the towel. Fenech is a big softy.
That stoppage is so funny to me.
Like, funny to the point that, if I'm having a bad day, I turn that on, and just laugh my ass off when he throws the towel in.
Man, what a letdown that night was for boxing fans.
That rematch as well as Castillo-Corrales II being marked with controversy and not really living up to what the first one did.
Arce just so clearly had the best of it the entire time though...
Anyway, Hussein didn't do anything the second time, because he didn't have time... Fenech stopped it sooooo fast. You'd think the most premature stoppage of all time would be a referee's call, but, in reality, it was this fight.
This stoppage makes McGirt look like he saved Paulie Malignaggi from being beaten to death.

That whole fight was epic. Non-stop toe-to-toe action for 10 rounds. Wondering why Hussein didn't do anything in the rematch though

McNabb gif... obviously a winner.
That fight was really good, although Hussein was never in that fight for a second IMO. That's what makes it less than stellar for me.
Lampley does his best work when the fight ends.
RJJ: "Jeff's stoppin' it."
Lampley: And JEFF FENECH STOPS THE FIGHT!

On the undercard of Pacquiao-Morales I was Jorge Arce vs. Hussein Hussein I. That was one helluva fight that rarely gets talked about. I actually think this fight was better than Pac-Morales I.

calzaghe-manfredo
God I got so excited when I saw you were the last person to post in this thread...
I was definitely expecting a Calzaghe-Hopkins tirade, but... this clearly is funny as well.
No, and that was a surprisingly good fight.
Judah-Cotto...I'd still like to see a rematch (fu.ck you).

kostya zoo vs ricky hatton was a good fight. i was suprised when he quit.
That was a terrible fight. Hatton got away with so much holding it wasn't funny.
