Do you think any of todays players could make an impact in the boxing world? In the past, we had Mark Gasteno that gave a run, one small step up and he was looking up at the lights.
Warren Sapp would have been decent as a boxer until he went dancing and seems to be a "Nice guy" now
its not the sport its the mindset, a good athlete will do ok at the lower skill levels but you have to have the mind and soul of a fighter to be a boxer. and most people dont. because call it what you want but its a fight and most people dont like to fight. everybody want to kick someones ass but its how you react when your getting you ass kicked thats what makes you a boxer and thats not for most people world class athletes in other sports encluded
Heard Burt Sugar say one time that the heavyweight champion would be Ray Lewis if not for the $$$ and fame of the NFL.
T.O. would probably be a good technical fighter but the first time he was beat ne would go cry and blame his trainors.
There was that one guy who was a small time boxer and then played football, and then went back to boxing. It was on ESPN. I think he was the guy who fought Jose Caseco.
But overall, i don't think that football players would make good boxers. Their accustomed to collision.
Vai Sikahema, or something like that. He demolished Canseco, it was hilarious.
Football players can't fight
Mirko CroCop KO's football player Sapp and makes him cry :lol1:
maybe, but Sapp beat Ernesto Hoost twice, and Hoost is considered by most people to be the best kickboxer in the history of K-1.
its pretty embaressing, actually.
If they just decided to pick up boxing now, no. they would do next to nothing.
but if you take some of these powerhouses in the NFL now, and trained them as boxers since they were teenagers...now thats a totally different story.
...but thats not how things work.
