Have you even seen Chagaev fight? You should watch his fights against Valuev, Ruiz and Virchis....Chagaev showed great counter punching in all of those fights. I really like Chagaev, he's my favourite heavy. What's his story at the moment? I must be one of the few people impressed by his performance against Skelton. He ripped some sick hooks on the inside. He also outlasted Skelton; who is a limited boxer but has world-class conditioning.

i've heard people say calzaghe is a great counter puncher so it must be true. he also used to be a murderous puncher.

Ruslan Chagaev is the best counter puncher in the heavyweight division I agree.....Ibragimov aint too bad either.......he had ya boy Wlad scared to let the right hand go for most of the night.

hmm quicker fighters have natural advatage so fighters like RJJ and mayweather are naturally good at countering shots. RJJ in particular as his hands a re so quick thathe can counter you in one and you're down. can't believe that ppl have eben mentioned james toney, granted hes not quite at his peak but he can counter his oppoents flurries all day long. hopkins has slowly developed a really good style for counter-punching, in fact his counter punching skills ae now not that far off toney's. overall though i think JMM takes it, the guy is a technician in the ring and has mad skillz.

I personally think prime MAB would beat JMM in his own game. i agree. both are good counterpunchers, JMM's ability is highlighted though only because this is his main game, while MAB mix brawls beautifully w/ counterpunching. i personally like to watch mab more than jmm. too much counterpunching is boring.

What do you guys think of Tszyu's counter right? That was pretty powerful.
