"I will KO Arce and Beltran"
By Ray Wheatley — World of Boxing
WBA/IBF/WBC super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan (31-1-1, 25 KOs) is confident of knocking out Jorge Arce (51-4-1, 39 KOs) on February 7th at The Pond, Anaheim, California and also has a warning for Arce’s manager Fernando Beltran. “I am upset with Beltran - the manager of Arce… He should keep his mouth shut and let Arce and myself do the talking. After I knockout Arce I will go to his corner and thank him for fighting me but then I might knock out Fernando Beltran. I plan on punishing Arce and will show him who is the better puncher and boxer.
”
As for the future? “After I defeat Arce I would like to fight the winner of the Montiel vs Donaire WBO title bout. I think Montiel will knockout Donaire but I am very confident I can defeat both of them.
“Another big fight I am after is to fight Israel Vasquez. I first boxed Vasquez at Freddie Roach’s gym in 2004 before I won the IBF flyweight title from Irene Pacheco. Again in 2007 we boxed again in the gym - he gave me great sparring but I am confident I will defeat him if we fight.
“2009 is the Year Of The Bull,” he concluded.
“I am the Raging Bull!”
In 2008 Darchinyan scored his best win when he stopped Cristian Mijares in nine rounds to win the WBA and WBC titles. Jorge Arce was soundly defeated over twelve rounds by Cristian Mijares in 2007.
it seems as though when fighters are in the ring and the fight has started, Vic's style just throws them off and are timid then usual or scared (no disrespect intended).
Vic just has that awkward style that only a fighter that is not going to be intimidated can beat him. Donaire fought timid until he landed the perfect counter shot.
Donaire was not timid at all, he was beating Darchiniyan when he KO'd him and had rocked him a few times in the previous rounds. He was landing hard right hands and counter lefts up until he KO'd Darchinyan
I'll admit, that came out wrong. I am just trying to say that far too many times we get caught up in the "invincibility factor" after a big win that we feel our fighter can beat anybody. Let's just slow down and analyze it because it's too easy to put Arce's face on Mijares' KO'd body right now. BTW, who's Vanes fighting?
Vanes' opponent for Feb 7th is not confirmed yet but it may be an opponent that recently went 8 rounds with James Kirkland.
will be up on his website soon as it is confirmed - www.VanesBoxing.com
Vic won't be able to unify with Montiel because Montiel will lose his fight with Donaire which is already signed.
I heard this fight isn't official yet. If penalosa vacates his wbo belt to fight juan manuel lopez montiel will move up to fight eric morel for the wbo of 118 lbs.
Vic won't be able to unify with Montiel because Montiel will lose his fight with Donaire which is already signed.
Lets hope not. Montiel/Darchinyan would be classic.
interresting approach :/
dumping recent form and traveling back to has-been times lol
ay ay ayyy

I think we all wanted this fight two years ago. Since then they've both been exposed once. I can't just go by the more recent results, which was Darch flattening Mijares, so I'll go with what I thought would happen two years ago, and that's Arce taking it to Darch and winning late.

I wanted Mijares to win but after watching the first 2 rounds I knew he was going to lose that fight, what a horrible display that ****er showed, im glad he got KO'd by Lobster Boy.
good... now go read my response in the Vanes thread TJ Boy
"El Traviezo" by KTFO-Back to Armenia KO.
i bet you said somethin stupid and similar about the Mijares fight huh...
till VIC sent both him and your dumbass back to TJ

I think Arce might be able to get to Darchinyan with Body shots because Darchinyan isnt much of a counterpuncher.
But i still think Darchinyan gets to him by the mid to late rounds and knocks him stiff
Seeing Vic destroy Mijares just broke my heart. Arce, you must avenge us pleassssssssssssssse
You have every right to dream pal. Its gonna be a nightmare though come fight time.
Arce likes to play the bully..... Lets see how he deals with a real bully.....
No Analysis on this fight from me. I will just let Clubber Lang say whats in store for Arce.
