Watch the later part of round 5 during the Dream Match was the best best moments for Oscar wherein he was able to momentarily trapped Manny to the ropes near the corner...hold Manny's back of the head with his right hand...then unleashed 3 successive left hooks to Manny's head. Was Manny able to handle it? well...you saw it...After Manny escaped from the trap by sidestepping from harm's way...he tapped his gloves ( the usual thing he does when he gets hit and gets hurt )...but clearly he was unfazed by those lefthooks. Those hooks may look short distanced though...but those were coming from the Golden Boy who has been known to use those shots to knock down his opponents...

i hate it when fans like you say "floyd would have whooped oscar that night". fact is he didn't. could he have? probably. did he? NO.
i think that some of you are jut bitter cause what floyd said "what he will do to oscar" he never did.
Pac did so you try to take credit away from the man's win with these excuses. We know there will be a weight issue. We know dlh is past prime. with all that taken into account, it was still expected that dlh would ko him.
Pac did something great. and it pisses me of that some of you discredit it cause it makes your favorite boxer "not as great as you make him ought to be"
So what logic do you use when people say that Pacquiao should have fought Valero and Guzman at 130?
You obviously can't say that Valero isn't even worth the time, because Pacquiao beats him... you just blew that excuse out of the water. He is undefeated, and has a belt, I don't know what else he needed to do to deserve a shot if you can't say that he just isn't good enough, because that hasn't been proven in the ring.
And by the way, Oscar was clearly smaller in the ring... just ****ing looking at the two, Oscar looked very, very small. It was weird to see him that small, because he always has looked pretty big in the ring, except when he fought Bernard Hopkins.
that's what oscar wanted you to think coming in the fight. if he wins, well size can't be the reason cause he was just about as big as pac. if he loses, that makes people forget that pac used to fight at 106 and has 4" height disadvantage.
To be fair though, when Pacquiao made his pro début at 106, he just turned 17 years old. Comparatively speaking, Floyd Mayweather was fighting at 106 in the amateurs when he was 17 years old, yet he fought a version of Oscar that was 20 pounds heavier than the version Manny fought.
Oscar gassed out in the later rounds. Floyd had his chances to be the offensive fighter but he didn't and continue to potshot and backpedal. Mayweather only engaged during the last 10 seconds of the fight.
Did you even read my post?
Pac's power is underrated. When you have a feather fisted Forbes hitting you, Oscar will come at you and throws combinations. It's very tiring especially all you hit is air and your opponent is just moving from all angles.
If it was Floyd then it could have been competetive and it will go to distance. Floyd will stay on the ropes. Pac didn't let him go on the offensive.
While I believe Pacquiao's game plan would of made an awkward fight for any version of Oscar, I think you're trying to substantiate this fact a little too much.
I can assure you that if Floyd was in the ring that night, you would of saw something similar after two or three rounds once Floyd realized what he was dealing with in there (not much). He would of embarrassed Oscar.

How do you see the outcome of the Pac-Hatton fight? You were one of the few here who predicted Manny to stop Oscar.

In Oscar's last two fights at 154, he looked good, he was competitive against Floyd Mayweather, and he looked spectacular KO'ing Mayorga.
Consider this: Oscar De La Hoya weighed 20 pounds more in his fight against Floyd Mayweather and Ricardo Mayorga than he did against Manny Pacquiao.
Also consider this: The last time that Oscar weighed 145'ish on fight night, while in the ring was 13 years ago, in 1996 when he fought Julio Cesar Chavez at Super Lightweight. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of his fights at Lightweight.
I'm not insinuating that Manny does not have a good chin, but to infer through his fight with Oscar that he would be able to cope with Welter Weight power would be a bit optimistic to say the least.
DLH this time around, doesnt have the hook at 147,or anything for that matter,Pacman took that fight for the payday!!He won,hes fighting at 140 now,Iwant to see him deliver the goods at 140,against Hatton,it will let us know how good that chin is!!
Better yet, Hatton is going to reveal just how durable Pacquiao's ribcage is as well.
Hatton is being grossly underrated going into this fight.
The Oscar fight is a terrible benchmark for Pacquiao's chin. Oscar was smaller than him, and hasn't shown impressive power in quite a while.
On the other hand, the insane talent that Pacquiao has faced throughout his career, and having rarely been hurt puts his chin on the top level of the sport.
People like Margarito and Andrade are the only fighters who have a better chin than him IMO.
He is on the same level as Paul Williams... they take big shots, and just don't seem to get phased by it at all.

Pacman eat those 4-5 wild straight from Larios and i remembered Pac was hit by JMM with wild lefthook..... He didn't even get KD... Pacquiao got some serious chin indeed...
