Would Margarito be able to do to Manny what he did to Miguel Cotto?

Cotto is a one dimensional fighter. Pac is not. Pac also has heart, something Cotto is severly missing. Even if you dislike Cotto, you show your lack of boxing knowledge here.

Manny is a very fast, of foot and hand, boxer who Margarito would have trouble even hitting. I think Pacman potshots him at will and turns him in circles till he pukes. UD Pacman. In fact the oly guy I see beating pacman clearly at welter is Williams and only because of his size.

One thing is certain, Pacquiao would make Margarito look very slow. Do you think Margarito would try to cut the ring off, something Oscar completely failed to do. Oscar kept circling to his right trying to stay way from Pacquiao's right hook. His corner insisted that he circle left to cut off the ring, but Oscar just ignored Nacho and did his own thing. So many times, Manny would attack and jump out of range to Oscar's left side and since Oscar was already circling right, he was reaching just to try to counter Manny. Manny's style, speed and power had Oscar all messed up.

All im saying is to beat Margarito you have to fight boring (but smart), you cant sit there and trade blows with Margarito (Like Manny and Marquez, Vasquez and Marquez, Ward and Gatti etc). You have to hit him and move, you can only win the fight on points.

Pac is too short, and he wouldn't be able to hurt Margarito. Pacman has a strong body, but enough shots from Marg and he'll slow down ending up the victim of those rapid fire uppercuts he cracked Cotto with.

After watching the HBO replay, I had to ask myself this question: Would Tony have been able to beat the snot out of Manny the way he beat the snot out of Miguel Cotto? Poor Miguel; I hope he has something left after that ass whoopin'. money marg is too big for pac. we'll see if cotto sustained any permanent ruinage in the jennings fight which cotto should win easily.

I think maybe he would walk Manny down eventually, but Pacquaio's legs are so quick he could get out of danger as soon as he touches those ropes. His stamina is great too, so he could move all night while boxing. Cotto made the mistake of getting caught on the ropes and not staying in the middle of the ring.

No, Cotto stayed on the ropes that entire fight. Not a good fighter comparison. I don't think Manny could hurt Margarito though... at least not with punches to the face. Maybe with punches to the knees???
