Yea, thats right, tony will impose his will on cotto even worser than before in the second fight...just look what happened to cintron and i know you can,t compare fighters but i just had to make this out of a example...cintron won a few fights before he got another crack at tony and he didn,t look that good in winning those fights, but when he faced tony he tried his best to knock him out and this guy can punch and couldn,t stop tony and thats when tony went to work...and cotto,s not even a better puncher than cintron so he,ll be on his bike like a mofo...margarito will crucify cotto in a rematch...his heart has already been taken so there will be nothing else left when cotto gets walked down again...any questions???
Cotto will go in there with more respect for Margo and thats gonna work against himmm..too many mental hurdles for him to overcome...
At least in the first fight he had confidence coming in...in the first couple rounds he was actually flossin a little bit..
some people tend to forget or ignore that cotto's nose was busted in the second round. IT AINT EASY TO GO FOR 9 ROUNDS swallowing blood and medicine and expect to have a high stamina...
Guarantee next one is cotto's. We'll see what happens in the third
that is true and I think Cotto will or should have a plan to not get hit by as many uppercuts, stay off the ropes, work Margarito's body do some facking clinching when smart and improve stamina. Those are called adjustments that are plausible for Cotto to actually make reality. Margarito will do nothing more nothing less because he fought an almost perfect fight and only fights one way.
Does anyone remember how cotto use to fight before he became a so called boxer???this guy had a straight forward bang the sht out of his opponent and break there will kinda style...look at his earlier fights, and you will see that most of his stoppages were at 140 even though he had a hard time making the weight but, he always came forward only until he got hurt and he began to backpedal...now look at the fighters he faced at 147... If you didn,t pose a threat to him he came forward and lets look at the quality guys he,s faced...judah has power but, really never had stamina to go 12...malinaggi if thats spelled right couldn,t punch a fly out the air with his power...ok, shane should have gotten a draw at least except for him not being a pressure fighter because he did hurt cotto to the body and the ref helped cotto out...now lets look at tony...the guys big, has granite chin, strong as fck, and can pressure you the whole fight...just wait until they have the press conference for the fight and they tell them to get face to face and see the expression on cotto,s face when he has to look into the face of the guy who made him quit ...body language is everything...he will sht a brick...just like i said...margarito will stop cotto earlier this time around...no contest...cotto will be scared...
this fight can definately go either way but i think margarito will walk through cottos punches with the same intensity he did in the first match because the mexico-puerto rico rivalry is still there he wont stop him early in the match because cotto is too good but he will b stopped margaritos power is too much for cotto :boxing:
margarito is not stronger. apparently his chin and stanima is making u think that.
Clinch,on the inside, stay off the ropes, circle dont back straight up,Cotto made huge mistakes in the first fight.Stamina is also a big factor,Cotto does not have the size,he better put in that insane roadwork!!

I actually also believe that its very possible that Margarito will get an even earlier stoppage this time around. He will be coming into the fight with an extra amount of confidence knowing that he can take Cotto's best shots, and also knowing that he can, and has stopped him before.
I think Margarito fans who think he's going to go for the KO from the opening bell will be sorry if he tries that. Margarito won the first fight starting slow and building pace throughout the fight, wearing Cotto down. To think that he can just walk through Cotto in the first couple rounds is rediculous. Cotto was and still is a P4P fighter with amazing abilities and to underestimate him would be a huge mistake.
That being said, I am a Cotto fan and I still favor Margarito in this fight. What I'm saying is that it would be dumb for Margs to follow the strategies that people are talking about in this thread.
You might be right. Marg is going to go straight for juggler from the opening bell. Cotto is going to have to trade with him and get some respect outta him this time, but that is dangerous thing to do.
im afraid that he aint getting margos respect even that he hit him with a bat!!..
if margo comes out swinging.... he better be ready for dodge and avoid em!!!
he just cant do the same thing !! if he does...
mar will ko him earlier!

wat does cotto do in a rematch that he dint do in the first
been stopped in the fashion that cotto was is gonna play on your mind no matter who you fight and fighting jennings is gonna do nothing to prepare him for the rematch. he will look fantastic against jennings and every1 will be crying from the roof tops cottos back to hes best , cottos a beast gonna **** up toni but when he steps in the ring with toni thats when wel see the real cotto.
unlike the first fight cotto will no from the off everything he throws is gonna bounce off toni and hes gonna closing the distance all night throwing them hooks he loves to throw ill be surprised if cotto lasts 5 this time around
What he does different if he's smart is forget about trying to hurt Marg - aint gonna happen, just throw snappy quick scoring shots no need to load up. That will help him save energy while building points. Move around Tony and not back straight up and into the ropes as often. And MOST importantly CLINCH the muther ****er! Tie em up, it gives Cotto a breather, runs out the clock and stifles Tonys attacks all at once!
If Cotto does that (just a few minor adjustments) He wins.
Also i think a HUGE factor was the bust nose, have u ever tried fighting with a bust nose? Ask Izzy Vazquez it aint easy! But Hey Margarito Bust it, it didnt bust its self so no excuses but how likely is the same injury to happen again and even if it does how likely to happen so damn early?
Some of ya'll ain't giving Cotto any credit for the first fight. He got hurt in the 7th round and still continued to throw and land clean solid punches from the 8th-11th round. There's no doubt he's got heart.
I think he needs to just pace himself and not try to knock Marg out because it seemed like that's what he was going for. He's gotta attempt to go to the body even if he's just hitting Marg's arms because that alone can do a number on any fighter if they're continuously getting hit through 8-9 rounds.
If Cotto's is taking the rematch and his camp wants it too, they must believe he can win and that attitude alone is a good start headed towards June.
cotto UD :boxing:
