Everytime i go to another house and a mexican is fighting i hear these chicanos cheering for a mexican when they can't speak spanish or i knowingly hear them hate mexicans from mexico. It seems the only time they like mexicans is when real mexicans are fighting. Why is this chicanos? Why do u guys only feel boxers but not the actuall people? Does boxing bring cultures together or the fake in people?
I know what you mean "Killa Right" Soy Mexicano asta La Madre! but techniquelly since I was born in the U.S. and have lived here all my life some people might say i'm American, but I say... F**K NO! When people ask me where was I born I tell them California, Mexico. It might sound dumb but I hate it when people say im American, and then this is what pochos always say "Well if you love Mexico so much why dont you go back" and I always tell them "I am in Mexico" or "I will one day" heck southern California is Mexico. All of my classes growing up were in Spanish untill Jr. High, all my jobs I have had are with Mexicans and all my friends are Mexicans, I'm fluent in English but I never like to speak it because that just wasent my language I grew up with. Even with my nieces and nephews I always speak to them in Spanish even if they talk to me in English because I dont want them to become "White Washed" like most mexicans do these days... But im not Chicano or Latino or Mexican American.. Soy MEXICANO CABRON!!
But to answer your Boxing side of the question... Your Chicano friends that you're talking about are just fake and are problably white washed. I bet you that all of a sudden they started liking FUTBOL (Not Soccer) Futbol, and were going for Mexico in the World Cup right? Also I bet they LOVE Mr. Pocho Oscar De La Hoya right? Do your pocho friends like MMGAY? You should tell them why are they making fun of they're own family when they start talking smack about mexicans, because deep inside wheather they want to belive it or not they're Mexican... I think it's just a shame and emberrasing when people deny what they are...
I don't have authority it's the just the way it is and the way most people look at it. Their's nothing wrong with being chicano or mexican. It's just what you are.
I don't hate chicanos. I'm just saying why is it that alot of them hate mexicans growing up but once they grow up they root for mexican fighters? The question does boxing bring out the fake in people or the good in people? My 30 yr old cousin has 2 roomates who he grew up with, who would make fun of mexicans including him. But once they grew older he started talking to them and they realized how stupid it was and now all they do is root for mexican fighters. I remember them saying their mom was born in mexico yet they made fun of mexicans. I'm just guessing it's maturity....
I'm not one of them posters that wanna start a race i actually wanna find out about this
There's your answer right there. Kids can be so cruel in their ignorance, and the differences don't even need to be racial for them to gang up on other people. It is only when we mature that we can appreciate the beauty in diversity.
Holy crap....another sooo true comes out!!
I'm talking about the Fil-Ams that pretend they are another race, the one who's ashamed to be what they are. Then Pac comes out and they are pinoy again....lol.
Rather than seeing it as Fil-Ams merely jumping on the Pac bandwagon, why not view it as Pac reawakening Fil-Ams' appreciation for their heritage? I never had the chance to re-discover my roots until Pacquiao, being adopted when I was six by a white couple. Up until ten years ago, I saw myself as just an American. When Pac came on the scene, I was compelled to find out more about my heritage, learn the language and study Phil. history.
I guess the same could be said of the Chicanos. They may have seen themselves in a different light as their Mexican brethren due to differences in culture and upbringing, but when a Mexican boxer captures their imagination, their pride in their heritage is awakened.
Well i respect ur opinion ur one of the few posters i respect. But i always wonder because alot of the people i see are ignorant and i wanna see if they are mostly the same way. I can't believe they really are that waynever mind, I edited this cause I'm not getting into it. Just a word of advice, stay away from people that look down on you. That's all
People that think this is a race thread stfu. I'm askng the people that dislike mexicans but choose to root for them when they box. Also being born here don't make u Chicano it's how u are raised and ur traditions.if you think margacheeto n arreola are the same thing your a idiot
P.s just look at my avatar
Whatever guys… I’m a real Mexican (real Aztec blood in my veins from my father’s side) but I do not hate on Mexican-Americans. Lots of people in my hometown (here in Zacatecas) have Mexican-American relatives living up there.
One thing is for sure when talking about Boxing; we Mexicans do not embrace Mexican-Americans as our own fighters. We do not count them as our champs throughout or boxing history and that’s a real fact.
No hate at all nor from my side neither my family’s. If they (or anybody else) don’t f.uck with us we don’t f,uck with them, as simple as that.
This made me laugh. So many people born in Mexico actually believe they have Aztec blood it's laughable. There's more type of "natives" that lived in Mexico. Also the remaning Aztecs moved to the south and southwest after their fall not north to parts of Zacatecas.
I find the Chicano/Mexican rivalry hilarious.. Chicanos happen to be born here so they are less Mexican it perpetuates the idea you have to be a ****** to be Mexican give me a break still have the same blood, but yet Mexicans want to talk about "Aztec blood" etc if Chicanos who are a few generations in the Us not Mexican then Mexicans might as well say they dont have Aztec warrior blood in them

I was born in Houston, TX and damn proud of it! But I got mad love for my Mexican roots, I consider myself Mexican though I was born in the U.S and look like a white boy.
I know both languages. I just wasn't smart enough to be a school boy. Now, in the jobs i've had, i don't need perfect spanish. If i was a smart vato and went to collage and shit =wish i had. Then yeah. But im 'barely geting by' its sucks, but thats the way it is. Im going back to school put i know more spanish then you think i don't know. But it is what it is.
Kids STAY IN SCHOOL!
Mexican-Americaaaaans go to night school and take Spanish and get a Beeeeeee... - Cheech :sombrero:
the threadstarter lives in arizona according to his profile details but he accuses others of not being real Mexicans.. ok. Most chicanos were born here and obviously didnt have much of a choice in the matter, but you actually made the conscious decision to come here so stop yer bitchin if you're going to remain living in gringolandia
Ain't leaving gringolandia. Damn gringas know how to really suck a dick.

I thought the definition was what I said...
Well either way, the way it is actually used is true Mexican vs. Americanized Mexican...
Fernando Vargas vs. Oscar De La Hoya was seen as true Mexican vs. Chicano I would imagine.
Why does Lupe Fiasco say Chicano man all the time? Anyone know that?
Kings..............
11 page of this and I still don't understand why some Mexicanos would apply such labels to themselves.
Maybe... just maybe, LOL, it's not how you dress, or what you look like, but how much you love your country. A country is its people, and you can't claim to love your country if you hate your own blood, just because it happens to be across some border.
Proof-of-patriotism aside...
I also don't understand why mastery of la lengua Castellana (por respeto á los Vascos, Catalanes, etc., no se refiere como "Español", lols) is such a fvcking point of pride for some Mexicans.I understand you have a truly-native language (several, actually) deserving of more-widespread use and development/modernization.
h.
Reality is it pays to know spanish, and in some jobs the better your spanish the better your pay. Sometimes knowing spanish gets you a job. So many of us that know spanish it almost a must to know it. Im sure most these guys that try and perfect there spanish have jobs that has to do with speak/writting spanish or there from a Mexican neigborhood.
I do remember some older Mexican told me that the spaniards actually changed the name to spanish. So Castallana isnt' a spaniards language but from someone else?
Kid im from la piedad michoacan and so is my fam. Including morelia and santana . Listen all my fam is mexican speaks spanish and has mexican costumes. So don't tell me about this, the most racism i faced growing up was from chicanos. But when they grow up seems they are mexican once again
p.s. i can tell ur chicano from ur avatar hahahaha from the heavy make up ur girl got and rose
U must be from the west coast or in that area cuz thats the only place where have seen that.. Not everyones like that.
I've always hated hearing people use "indio" as an insult to others, seeing Mexicans discriminate against their own really irks me; but a lot of that ignorance and self hatred is a result of the colonial european caste system
but its part of mexican culture anyway...mexicans are supposedly proud of "our"customes...lmao.....99% of the ****ing traditions we celebrate are either european or american....hell religion anyone???they worship the lady that our european ancestors forced upon our native ancestors by rape-murder, etc.....
people are hypocrites.....:sombrero: mexico sucks balls...
Sabes que puto, me la pelas guey. Yo soy un vato loco ese, e que? Me la rifo con tu veija, e me mama la verga, esa morinita a que bonita moueve la colita, tiene los pechos de una vaca :boobies:
All chicanos know are cus words of course. I was trying to talk about boxing fans but people took this personel

Come join us fucker.
Nah man Mexico is beautiful. But I have to say America is the greatest country on the face of the earth. That's why we're here.
