My opinion on Why the Klitschkos' are not Respected More by White People

I am "white". I am in college. i am eastern Europian. I like the Klits. But my favorite fighter is RJJ, BY FAR. What does that make me? Self hating?

The reason why people don't like the klitchskos is because they're not exciting fighters to watch. It's not a race or nationality thing, I know it isn't for me and it shouldn't be. IMHO i just dont like them because they're not exciting and their 2 or 3 nuthuggers on this forum who make them out to be gods.

Tunney I think you are off-track here. I respect the Klitischko's styles because they usually win, and win convincingly. I can see how people don't like their styles and it's not because they are white, black, blue, yellow or purple. They use their height so well, and Wlad protects his weaknesses very well ( you will remember he wasn't always safety concious and did like to slug it out in the past). To some people this appears cautious, and too calculating and they feel it's boring. I certainly do not think that. I think both of them would be liked better if they had a nemesis that could occasionally give them a good battle or two. It hasn't happened in forever though. They have been winning and winning really easily. I think people crave heavyweight slugfests like Tua-Ibeabuchi, or Bowe-Holyfield, etc. Agree: I've mentioned it before... Wlad was more exciting before he got with Emanuel Stewart. However; he is a better "boxer" now than he was in the past. He compromised excitement for a more intelligent approach of fighting in order to win. He is more "boxer" than "fighter." I thought Wlad was on his way to being the next big thing and then he came crashing down against Sanders. After that loss, he focused on improving and in improving; his view of boxing changed. He learned how to box for the "W" behind intelligence first, before exciting the crowd. In the long run, if fans haven't yet caught on, they might appreciate him more down the line for his ability to adjust and fight smarter in order to walk away with the "W." A Trainer or a student may be more inclined to look at how he fights than anyone else. In addition: It also might end up being a Dempsey-Tunney situation where even though Dempsey lost to Tunney, it was Dempsey that was remembered more. Of course we can argue if Dempsey was past his best because of the layoff when he faced Tunney....but that is not the point I'm trying to make (just in case someone brings it up) I think this is also why Manny is thrilled with Wlad fighting Haye. Haye will come after Wlad and force him to fight and in doing so, it could make for an exciting fight. Motivated, in shape, Pressure fighters against Wlad will always be the better match-up.
