From what I've seen from him so far, Dmitrenko is very impressive. But people have told me that Danny Batchelder dropped him twice on body shots but that they were ruled low blows.
Also Chris Koval was credited a knockdown of him.
Has anyone seen these fights? Does anyone have them on tape?
I thought they both were a little low, but even if they were, it doesn't serve Dimetrenko well the way in which he reacted.
I need to see more of Dimetrenko to know where to put my money when he fights.
The first one was inconclusive due to the camera angle but the second one was a perfect left hook to the liver.
Dmitrenko has a lot of physical skills, I'm just not sure his style serves his body type in the long run.
Granted, the first one was legit KD and nobody can tell what would happen if Dimitrenko didn't have 3 minutes to recover from that. .
I can tell that he wasn't going to recover in 10 seconds and make it out of the round. He was still hurt so badly from the first one the second won hurt him badly several minutes later.
I like Dimitrenko too, but I wonder would we be talking about him if his resume had a TKO loss to Danny Batchelder on it?
Granted, the first one was legit KD and nobody can tell what would happen if Dimitrenko didn't have 3 minutes to recover from that. I don't think I saw any petitioning though, Dimitrenko just took the knee. The ref acted a little strange but I didn't see anything unusual in Dimitrenko's behavior. I hope he gets tested to the full extend next year, he's a solid top 10 fighter across the board.
I hear he has a huge test coming in March...
And I'm not telling :hitit:
I think the criticism is that Batchelder is not regarded as a big puncher. I actually called a recent opponent of Batchelder's up and asked if he could bang and he said, "Hell no."
Still, it kinda bothers me that a guy has the instinct to petition the referee whenever he gets hurt. What happens when a referee from America comes in and works the fight, he won't have that lifeline. You can become dependent on those kind of things and not develop the proper survival skills.
Also, who knows, if the referee calls those shots legal knockdowns, perhaps he doesn't make it out of the round to score the knockdown in the next round. He was obviously hurt very badly and when you're hurt to the body it's not nearly as easy to recover as from a head shot.

That's what I like about him, he is a nasty fighter in the ring and has a mentality of a cobra in there. He is also not scared to mix it with his opponents, which is a rare quality in HW nowdays, Vitali excluded. I actually think that he can present major problems to Wlad next year, after he becomes or is declared his mandatory.
Funny how people criticize him for being soft and going down twice from brutal body shots, yet never give him credit for coming back and knocking the guy down the very next round. He's got a fighter mentality, I am sure he'll make some major noise in the division.

Not good when you're tall, although guys like Riddick Bowe could get away with it because of their durability. It remains to be seen what Dmitrenko's chin is made of though.
What I've noticed from studying him is that he's much more emotional than the Klitschkos. The Klitschkos are the most regimented guys in the sport, you can tell they come from a military background.
Dmitrenko seems more like a cowboy, he likes to throw in exchanges and negate his height and reach. He throws punches fading away sometimes and isn't the most disciplined technically at times.
My guess is that you'll have to knock him out to beat him, but even that's no small task because he seems like he has a lot of balls.

Dimitrenko was touched too often even in his last win against Krasniqi. He landed a classic bodypunch to end it, but before that Krasniqi was landing his jab and also getting inside to land.
Dmitrenko(not Dimitrenko) is a tall guy who likes to fight on the inside and bodypunching.
He also gets hit way too much.

Don't know if they show the knockdowns I haven't watched it yet.
At 12:18 and 13:48, Dimitrenko gets a little hometown help after eating a few too many body shots.
At 12:18 he clearly goes down, takes a knee and gets a time out to recover. He then brings his elbows in a lot ore and shows signs of a guy hurting to the body.
At 13:48 it's pretty clear as day, Dimitrenko takes a left hook to the body, winces, turns around away and the ref calls it a kidney punch and deducts a point without a warning for kidney punches.
I'm surprised because Batchelder is not regarded as a puncher but more of a boxer type.
Yeah Danny definately dug him legally. That type of stuff happens all the time over there. Batchelder is a fairly decent puncher, especially to the body. This guy couldnt take it and caught a break.
I think they were both legal blows. Dimitrenko is soft.
Dimitrenko is already 26, with 30 wins and still has not stepped into the limelight. He needs to start taking advantage of the heavyweight scene, and not let those Tyson/Ali skills go to waste.

First knockdown was at 12:45 scond one abput two minutes later. Both were legal blows and after watching this I don't have much confidence in Dimitrenko. Both shots were on the belt line and he turns away and starts crying about legal blows. Germans cheating again, proof right here.
