against Hatton? 1st off let me say that I hope Pac does fight Hatton 1st and I hope he wins because Pac vs Floyd would just be special and I think a win over Hatton makes the fight alot bigger.
However, people are acting like this is just a forgone conclusion. Hatton is not a bum. Your talking about a guy that has beat Malignaggi, Castillo, Collazo, Tszyu, and the other big guy who's name has slipped right now. I swear Hatton is the most underrated guy in boxing right now. People act like he's a bum.
All this is coming from a guy who said that Pac would beat Oscar way before anyone was saying it and gave good reason for it but now Im also saying that Hatton could easily beat Pac. Some people say that Castillo was shot but how is he shot and Oscar isnt? The people who are saying that Pac will kill Hatton are the same people who were saying that Oscar would kill Pac because he was bigger and Pac, lost to EM, and nearly lost twice to JMM. I give those same reasons for Hatton. Hatton is bigger, stronger, is just as fast as Pac, and I think he's much more of a threat to Pac at 140 then those other guys he nearly lost to at those lower weights. I mean this is a guy who bullied and made Tszyu quit. This is a guy who punished Malignaggi easier then Cotto did. He's not a joke and I think Oscar made Pac look alot better then he is.
Dont get me wrong, Pac is a straight beast but Im just saying that people act like he's the Termiantor for killing Oscar and he isnt. He's not going to walk through Hatton at all. A fight with Hatton will be night & day from the Oscar fight. The only thing Oscar had on Pac was height. He wasnt quick anymore, he seemed to be very weak at that weight, and I dont even think he was the harder hitter. He didnt even come in the ring with the size advantage. You cant say that Im taking away from Pac's win because I called this before hand and if anyone thinks that Oscar was Oscar then there smoking. He was clearly a shell of himself while Hatton is in his prime and looks even better under Floyd Sr.
Again, Im not saying that Hatton will win and I dont even want Hatton to win but I think its a toss up fight and if Pac wasnt a Southpaw then I would definatly pick Hatton but I think him being a Southpaw could cause him trouble. Again, this is not Oscar. Hatton has seen guys like Pac with Floyd & Collazo but Pac hasnt fought anyone thats going to be as ferioucious as Hatton. It will be a shock to his system just like I said Margarito will be a shock to Cotto's system. It wont be as bad because I think Pac is P4P the better fighter and I think he will find a way to win but unless he catches him with a blind lefty punch then he will have a tough fight with Hatton
see, theres your problem right there. You made that statement as if Hatton easily beat all of those you named when in fact, Collazo gave Hatton a HELL of a fight, Castillo is WAY WAY WAY past his prime as proven by his last fight when he lost to whats his face. He also struggled and got hurt BADLY by Lascano. The Maliganggi and Tszyu wins were legit and great wins though.
Hatton's success depends on his inside fighting right? When thinkin about how Pacquiao fights, bobbin and weaving, in and out, not hangin on the ropes, it will be VERY difficult for Hatton to be able to put in the work. We may think that Hatton will be much stronger than Pac, but Pac has surprised us with the amount of power and strength he has carried with him up to these classes.
Im not gonna lie, I've always been one to think Hatton has been overrated because he hadn't preformed as he did in the Tszyu fight SINCE that fight. I still think he gets more praise than he should, but he DID shut me up with the Malignaggi win. I was sure Paulie would outbox him, but I think Paulie was just stunned by Hatton's power and became trigger shy. I commend Hatton for an awesome performance and the fact that he considers himself "The Machester Mexican". Thats cool as ****.
But I just don't think Hatton has the ring smarts to isolate Pac's speed and lateral movement. What I do think though is that this will be a GREAT fight.
Yeah but you make it sound like Collazo is a bum. He's supposed to give Hatton hell at WW and he would give Pac hell too. People act like if your good then your not supposed to have a tough fight. I never understood why people act like the Collazo win isnt that special since Collazo gave him hell. So! Collazo's a darn good fighter. Castillo was past his prime and never looked any good above 135 where he had the size advantage but I dont think he was any different then Oscar in that Pac fight. I agree that Hatton hasnt always looked great but he did in and before the Tszyu fight and with Sr., he also looked good in his last fight so Im just really going by that in thinking that he will be near his best for the Pac fight.
Hatton is an inside fighter but I do think his boxing skills are underrated. Infact, he's not totally different from Pac. Hatton "use to" use that side to side head movement also. He's not as great with it anymore but he can still pull it out. Pac hasnt surprised me with his strength as Ive always said that he was much bigger & stronger then people think. Dude is big and has killed himself to make weight. His legs are bigger then most 154 pounders and he has the best body in all of boxing and its not even close. Im not saying that Hatton will win but I just think people are sleeping on him. Again though, I want Pac to win and I hope he wins by a spectacular KO to set up the real dream fight

There will be knockdowns in this fight.
Flash or not, someone will fall.
These styles are going to clash HARD. Both men love to fight ; but Pac needs to understand that Hatton is a bull at 140 and can hurt him, but Pac has enough power to keep Hatton off with his left hand and also make him miss with his speed and movement.
If Pacquiao doesn't knock Hatton out like Mayweather did. What will that say about Pacquiao? After all people were quick to compare the way they both beat DLH.
pac isn't mayweather, he's not a pure boxer, he's a puncher. pac's footwork isn't as good as pbf's, manny will take punches from 'atton, ricky won't miss all night like against floid
140 is hatton's best weight and pac isn't on the level of pbf in terms of boxing skill, this fight will be competitive, i can see either guy winning this one

Hatton has a pretty good chance at beating Pacquiao.
Pac can box and punch. He's got good speed, power, chin, and stamina. I just see him as an overall better fighter than Hatton, although Ricky definitely has a shot.

Thats why I want to see Pacman-Hatton, it is an interesting fight. I don't really like Hattons chances because I think Pacman would bust up his face something fierce, but if Hatton can fight a rought and tough fight, who knows beacause I have never seen Pacman in that type of fight, so it could turn out badly for him.
Pacquiao looks faster then Hatton even when Pacquiao was fighting at 147 and Hatton fights at 140. Pacquiao looks like he gives better lateral movements. I also think Pacquiao might hit a bit harder, and in my opinion Pacquiao does everything better then Hatton and probably even has a better chin then Hatton.
Basically this fight to me is Hatton missing his punches, and Manny landing his stopping Hatton either on cuts or knockout.
