Floyd and Pacquaio. THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION!!!!

No matter who he's fighting Floyd will be Floyd. The onus is on Manny to try and beat the Pretty Boy.

The only question that matters for this match up is "can Pacquiao get past Floyd's defence?" Floyd's defence is based on reactions, he anticipates a punch and either blocks it or avoids it. Pacquaio can possibly make his way past Floyd's defence by feinting, Pacquiao has fast enough hands to trick and coax defensive movement from Floyd, allowing him to theoretically land shots. But and this is the big but, Floyd seems to have an uncanny ability to learn his opponents movement and strategy. How often have we seen Floyd come under pressure in the early rounds before stepping it up and dismantling his opposition? TThis happens because at some stage during every Floyd Mayweather Jr fight, there comes a "eureka" moment, a point of the contest in which Floyd has figured you out and from that moment on, he has you. Manny without doubt has the tools to beat Mayweather, but the thing about Floyd and what makes him a legendary fighter, is the way in which he turns those tools against you. If the fight ever comes off Pac Man may unfortunately, become a victim of his own ability. maybe... there are only 2 questions in a floyd/pac fight.... 1) will floyd be able to time pac and counterpunch him 2) will floyd be able to punch in combination these are his only keys to victory. if he can't time pac and just plays defense, pac will swarm him and win on points because floyd is doing anything. if floyd punches in combination and backs pac up he wins on aggression. pbf can't just sit back and play defense for 4 rounds and then come on strong later imho, he needs to try and win every round because pac is a beast and won't quit coming until the end of the 12th.

If Mayweather does become the aggressor then yes, the question of Pac prising open Floyd's defense becomes easier to answer, if Pac is the aggressor then I believe it will be the deciding factor of the fight. I agree, that's pretty much the big question in most of Mayweather's fights, can his opponent get past his defense?

I agree, Manny has got a lot of uses for his left, but the sneakiest is his short one, it looks harmless at first, but it dropped Marquez in the 3rd round and David Diaz, who went down face first from it... He throws that punch from the elbow sometimes and still manages to pack a punch with it, it's a very effective punch, he can throw it across his body as well which makes the angle of the punch a bit more awkward and hard to see.

He won't Pacquiao doesn't fight the way Castillo did. We won't find out until he actually gets back into the ring. Mayweather makes his opponents fight at his pace because of his accuracy and angles though, his opponents get cautious about throwing punches and even when they throw punches in bunches, Mayweather finds ways of landing the better shots to win the rounds like he did against Jesus Chavez, although Chavez doesn't bring the movement that Pacquiao brings, he was probably an easier guy for Mayweather to counter than Pacquiao. Yeah, it's not like riding a bicycle, he hasn't really been an offensive fighter for a while now and if he starts being an offensive fighter, it could open himself up for counters and Pacquiao has one of the sneakiest shots in the sport, his left hand, whether it's a lead or a counter, it's a sneaky shot, a lot of guys don't see it coming. If Pacman gets off quickly and win the earlier rounds because of Floyd's inactivity, he has no choice but to go offensive in the middle/later rounds which is an uncharted territory for him, or he hasn't "done" this for quite a while. He might get caught while pressing, and that's how I read this fight too, although nothing is official yet... Although it could be argued that Hatton's size and strength could negate some but all of Pacquiaos boxing skill. He could but it depends on his strategy for that fight, Pacquiao is a very hard guy to time and he is very fast so Mayweather may not even see what Pacquiao is doing in time to bring up his defense when Pacquiao does his in and out movement, last time Mayweather fought someone who was as fast as him, Zab Judah, he had trouble before Judah started to fade, like he always does so Pacquiao's speed, both of hand and foot could give Mayweather trouble. A less likely scenario is that Pacquiao does what he did with DLH, 1-2-3 turn and use a lot of movement, before long we could see Mayweather being the aggressor chasing Pacquiao down, opening himself up to counters. All this is hypothetical of course, Mayweather probably would be fast enough to get his defense up before Pacquiao gets to him, assuming the layoff doesn't affect him too much but you never know. I don't think Pac can apply the same kind of pressure because of his size. Totally agree about the layoff, but I have a feeling Mayweather is as sharp as ever. Pacquiao being smaller will find it harder to apply the same kind of pressure.
