Before the DLH fight I hardly knew anything about Pacquiao, so I was quite shocked at his footwork and lateral movement in that fight, it reminded me of Bruce Lee.
Is it just me or was his footwork and lateral movement that night the best ever seen in boxing? I've been watching the fight over and over and I'm still amazed at how good it was.
I think it was excellent the way he moved, but not the best ever. Check Ray Leonard, Whitaker, Ali, etc..
those guys were fast on their feet and moved a lot, but weren't as technical or as good. A better example is a Bernard Hopkins in his prime..he feints and slips and sets up positioning with his feet and the right time. Leonard and Ali just moved a lot.
he's amazingly fast on his feet..his footwork was great.
some other fighters with great feet and movement...
Bernard Hopkins
Pernell Whitaker
Roy Jones in his Prime
Muhammed Ali
Prince Naseem
I've seen Lee sparring in demonstrations. He kept his head and upper body rigid and darted in and out in straight lines.
Didn't remind me of Pacquaio-apart from the speed.

I think you need to watch a shit load more boxing matches. Sugar Leonard had awesome footwork, not to mention ALI, considering the was a Heavyweight.

NO, hell no.... Its good boxing skills thou and combination with power makes him 1 p4p.
His footwork and lateral movement is good.
No way the best ever.
amen brother...
yep, Pac's footwork was good against Oscar... but it can't be denied that Oscar was as slow as molasses too...
Man, people are taking this Pacquiao shit way to far.
yes they are
pac struggles against jmm (and loses in many people's opinions) then fights two stiffs in diaz and a shot dlh and he suddenly becomes SRR... ok
hahaha true..
its not manny's fault its his fans.. manny is a beast and a hall of famer.. can't take nothing away from the man.. but a lot of people are overrating his skills just a tad
the best boxer right now getting props and you think its funny...
Saying that his footwork and lateral movement are the best ever is just about the funniest thing I have ever heard. Call me a Pac hater if it makes you feel better, but Im not insane like someone who could actually believe that. It is god damn hillarious.

Pacquiao's footwork looked prety good against De La Hoya but greatest of all time? Nawww, look at a prime Ali's lateral movement. Guy moved smooth as silk in there.
By the way, Bruce Lee's footwork wasn't technically great either. The guy would cross his feet often. That kind of shit wouldn't cut it in a boxing ring.
There is a big difference between weight drained and having a hard time making weight. Calzaghe had a hard time making weight at SMW but he was never weight drained. Weight drained is coming into a fight unhealthy. Pacquiao was at 100% fighting health. He fought possibly his best ever fight that night. There is no way he was weight drained.
Considering he came in under weight and made it easily the first time he was perfectly healthy and fought like a healthy fighter. He was not weight drained at all and didn't fight like he was weight drained. Re-watch the Oscar/Pac fight and you'll see a weight drained fighter.
Yes indeed......
And your a pac Hater.... No need to argue you....
Pac's lead left and slide to the right is a great weapon. He always lands it.
Pac's footwork improved a lot but there are many others that can match if not better it.

Im a big Pac fan. But when people start coming out of the woodwork claiming he's the best ever, or they never saw him before but has the best foot work ever.........things are getting ridiculous. If you believe either of these thing you are either 1 of two things, possibly both. 1. A hugeass nuthugger, or 2. A very uneducated boxing fan. There are no if, ands or buts about it.
