Take it for what you want, but just got of the phone and my buddy is telling me that bob arum is walking around the office saying the ppv buys are very close to 2 million PPV buys!!! They are still tracking PPV's so nothing is official yet. He said they were expecting 1.5 million so they are pretty excited its around 2million! Numbers should be out by the end of the week.
If the PPV goes beyond expected, I think Arum would give back the cost to fans via a major card on free HBO - hopefully. :D
margarito vs mosley free on hbo :)
kevin iole says around 1.5 million buys
well let's wait for official numbers because in the neighborhood of 2million is what i've heard.
2 million lol, so many people didnt even know these two were even fighting.
shut up dumb ass you have too much hate in you.
Come on....I know some dude who lives on their sister's basement aching to see this fight.
maybe in Hartford Connecticut where you're at but everyone and their mothers knew this fight was happening. "you're so blinded by hate" yada yada yada
Diddo, dude is a moron!
No way did it do that many!
it's not hard to believe!!! not at all! let's wait for official numbers to come out.
Too bad the entire undercard was totally busted. People paid 55 - 65 to see a shitty card and a non-competitive main event.

if this is true then adjusted for a better economy that's equivalent to liek 2.5 mil which is triple what the pathetic "biggest match in MMA history" brock/couture did
hahahahahah i know ....brock/couture = 700k-825k??? LOL!!!

If this is true thats great for our wonderful sport. I thought the numbers would be 800k because of the recession in our great country. There was alot buzz aroud the fight here, & I was happy it was the most dominate talk in my barbershop all last week (the other was our beloved wide reciever Plexico Burress). I love being a barber when big fights come up because I know the most shit about boxing in the shop, besides my father when he comes for a cut, or Frank Mcneil of the Star Ledger comes by & drop his knowledge.
You gotta love Max Kellerman, Brian Kenny, & Teddy Atlas for stressing boxing on ESPN.

don't trip. pavlik-bhop will break that mark.
2 top 10 p4p right there fighting. the new 160 king against the old 160 king.
great fight.
when is pavlik-hopkins fight scheduled?

I believed that. They shutdown fta before the fight.
"HBO said with the buys now fully accounted for, the fight actually generated 2.4 million buys and $134.4 million in domestic PPV revenue, bringing the total revenue for the event to approximately $165 million. "
from espn those are the final numbers
for this PPV people at HBO are scared. Other than tracking well in LA, SF and Chicago elsewhere there wasnt an interest in the fight. The rebates not working in certain states didnt help either (Arizona for example)
well dlh vs pac dlh did better than expected. I think he said they were expecting 1.5 million and that the numbers right now are floating around 2 million but they are not done tracking ppv's. Should get a final count this week sometime im assuming.
May-Oscar was 2.1 million buys.
