Is Margarito too Big to fight Pernal Whitiker?

No, he isn't. Pernell would outbox him. I could see Margarito catching him with a shot now and then, but Whitaker had a fairly good chin.

I think Whitaker would be able to compensate for the size better than anyone else who has ever graced the sport... The way his defense relied on ducking and slipping was so advantageous for him, because he was able to take literally 0 punishment while avoiding punches. I don't see many other fighters his size who would have been able to move up and beat Julio Cesar Vasquez at 154. Any other style of fighter that was Whitaker's size would be too small for Margarito. **** man... How long would it take for Whitiker to accept a fight with Margarito do you think? No time at all. Whitaker thrived on challenges and looked for the toughest fights. Never liked his style, but he was great.

How long would it take for Whitiker to accept a fight with Margarito do you think? Today's version? Not sure...depends on how low his bank account is. I wasn't informed that Margarito likes fighting washed-up fighters. Past prime, sure, but most fighters that want a big pay check and get notice tend to have to. Margarito has been fighting "live" fighters, unlike some I can name. I still wish he would fight P.Williams again...but I understand if he wants to make the most money he can since a fighter's career is short and he isn't that young. Make that money and later maybe try to fight Williams again.

Margarito has very advantage over Pernell except boxing skills. Speed, reflexes, defense, ring generalship, footwork....

Did we already forget how a welterweight was going to fight a light heavyweight pitting two undefeated fighter together? I swear some of you young fans are pussys. I guess everyone should know there limit. I mean Whitiker only went to jr. middleweight but not middleweight. And before Chavez was going to go to jr. middleiweght his bus hit a bump at welterweight.
