"Obviously there is Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather Jr out there, and Ricky is the leading guy right now because Floyd has not come back yet. There are other possibilities, and people are actually asking 'What about Margarito?' Look I am a brave guy, but I am not stupid, so that's not going to happen."

who would be interested in watching pac vs. margarito. this idiot(ferocity) keeps hyping shit up. the loss must have badly affected his life. waahhh. waaahhh. crybaby.
Yeah, just like they considered the delahoya fight if he came in at 147 on fight night. I knew i remember reading this was in the contract.
Tell me you're scared of Margarito, how pathetic, Pac is a welterweight who just beat Delahoya and he's going to be scared of Margarito. Wow.
With that comment you weaken your argument. Pac didn't even weigh close to a full Welterweight at the weigh in.
I would love too see if Pacman can handle the type of pressure hatton would apply!!! Also id like to see if hatton can stop the sharp shooting power punches of the pacman!!!
This would be a great fight for boxing!!!
Great post only thing i disagree with is that if you call delahoya greedy then you have to call pacquiao greedy for pressing for a delahoya fight, cause he was willing to take an ass kicking if weight drained delahoya didn't show up/or throw the fight .
I think the fight was more Roach's doing. He kept pressuring Manny to take it even after talks broke off due to money issues initially. It's quite clear now that Roach really saw something in ODLH that he thought he could exploit fairly easily. My first thought was that Roach was selling out Pac to cash in on a big fight. This upset still ranks quite high up there with the Quintana schooling of Williams earlier in the year.
Had Oscar been KOed by Margarito less people would have been shocked and it would have been a legacy fight. Right now his partner Mosley is trying to beat the odds and add to his own legacy by toppling the recognized best welter in Margarito which is something to applaud whether he succeeds or not.
It's obvious that Oscar thought he would beat up on a smaller Pacquiao and get big money for little risk but that strategy soundly backfired and I in all honestly can't feel too much sympathy for him because of it. Had the man been beaten to a bloody pulp by Margarito people everywhere would have praised him for the attempt at greatness. However, I do feel quite embarrassed for Oscar getting schooled by a former 106lb fighter. It was poetic justice in many respects whether you like Oscar or not.
Ricky is tooo easy the only logical fight out there is Mayweather. Who da fuk actually expects to see Pac fight Marg, i mean come on lets get serious here.
I think the issue is they want it both ways. If they really believe beating up on old past prime Oscar(weightdrained and coming down from 154 fighting as high as 160) at 147 where he hasn't fought in 12 years is a great victory then there's no reason why PAC can't fight prime welterweights.
If, on the other hand, Pac fans are honest and don't think it's such a good victory then I can see the logic of not fighting the top welters like Margarito and Cotto. I'm not an Oscar fan and was hoping Pac would win or come out unhurt but the way DLH looked in the ring was pathetic. He looked completely shot like an amateur who forgot how to throw a punch or move his legs.
I think the assumption was that Oscar would look the same as he did at 154 against Mayorga and Forbes but it's now pretty evident that making the weight killed him. In hindsight he should have just faced Margarito but his greed got the best of him and he ended up paying the ultimate price.

Pacquiao shouldn't be fighting too much at Welterweight. Fighting Margarito would be stupid.
and who said pac's gonna fight margo? like freddie and bob said, pac is going to and will stay at 140.
After a win like that you'd think people would belive in Pac. Im not even a fan of his and i want to see this fight, i guess even a non-fan had higher hopes for Pac.

Lmao, where the Pac fans at?
here's one.
like freddie roach it ain't gonna happen...margo should pick an opponent his own size. pac is a warrior no doubt but he aint fool, like you and xcaret, lol!
Im sure roach and pac might consider it if Marg is willing to fight at 140. :)
