Just downloaded this circus act! What a fuken joke!! This shit had fraud written all over it since this fight was signed. It was a no win situation for dlh. He wins he gets shit for beating up a small guy, so he lets himself get pummeled
Dlh wasn't even fuken throwing! Where was the pressure? Where was the left hook? Where was the fuken jab for crying out loud? In the 7th round dlh is just standing the whole fuken round with his hands off. He is purposely standing in the corner!! IS dlh new to this? He continued to stay in the corner while pac swang away. He gets a little room and finds himself away from the corner only to willingly go back to the corner and stand there again while pac throws away. What a fuken joke this fight was. Oscar is a disgrace! Where's all his supporters now??? Never did I imagine people on this board would be so excited about a pac victory and be completely blind on what happened in that ring! Pac is a perfect fighter for a boxer/counterpuncher! So an average David Diaz put up a better fight than the 6 time world champion in 5 divisions. tAnd old Barrera put a better fight than dlh. Marquez's left hook was pacmans worst nightmare but dlh must have forgot he can throw a left hook. What a joke! I'm not buying any of this bullshit! Oscar just standing there while manny jumps in throwing wild punches is comical. Will manny stay at 147 and fight cotto? margarito? williams? clottey? no those guys wouldn't do what dlh did that's why he's going back down to 140 and probably 135.
Any of you guys thinking manny would beat floyd, you guys are out of your mind. YOu guys are fooled by dlh's performance. Floyd would counter the shit out of paquiao and knock his ass back to 135!
DLH=Don King
from the weigh in to the fight it just never seemed right. and I'll laugh at anyone that thinks something like this isn't possible. They must not been watching boxing too long. And i just read shaefer and top rank already looking to set up pac vs hatton in april. It's like they had a gameplan written down already and pac vs dlh was just a set up to make the pac vs hatton that much bigger. Bob Arum and Dlh have gotten together to make some nice money together ever since that battle they had in court over paquiao
Oscar delahoya vs ricky hatton probally would of made more money than manny pacquaio vs ricky hatton so why would he just throw it away ?
It seemed really shady. DLH wasn't even throwing any punches. I don't know if he really took a dive but either way, DLH looked like absolute shit. I wanted Pac to win but I was screaming to the TV at DLH to throw some punches. He was just following Pac around, getting punched in the face. I sounded like Mayweather senior.. "Use ya fukkin jab!!!"
It's not implausible to assume that making the 147 lb limit was a problem for him since he hadn't done so since 2001.
I don't really know what to think about this fight. I don't really want to believe that Hoya took a dive but I see where you are coming from Rog.

He'd be right. Was he shot against Forbes? No. That wasn't long ago and he hasn't taken any punishment or been through vicious beatings since then. So how is he shot?
****ing garbage. People keep making excuses so they don't have to give Pacquiao any credit, and it is totally transparent. There's 4 excuses so far:
"Oscar suffered because of the weight!"
"Oscar over-trained!"
"Oscar was dehydrated!"
"Oscar is shot!"
****ing bunch of parrots.
It was the same with Hopkins-Calzaghe. As soon as Joe humiliated him, he was "shot". Then Hopkins beat Pavlik and suddenly he isn't shot, he's a genius!
Wanky excuses. Stop it.
So freddie roach is making excuses for oscar? before and after the fight about his inability to pull the trigger?

I won’t say he over trained, but you don’t have to be an expert to see that something was wrong with Oscar. Not throwing strong punches is seriously a problem. He threw some stupid week slow punches. For some reason his legs, strength, and stamina never existed that night, called dehydrated, or whatever you want. Something was wrong with him, seriously. All that shit combined with an excellent performance by Pacquiao provoked what happened. Common guys, this is the Pacquiao JMM outclassed 2 times.
Alibata keeps saying oscar wasnt shot

lol 63 posts and no one has even mentioned margarito. Don't be dumb dude. I was rooting for paquiao but after the 3rd round it was looking pretty weird in that ring. And what will justify this as not really being a legit win is that pac WILL NOT stay at 147. He will go back down. If he did that to a much bigger dlh then it's not out of the question he can do it to margarito, cotto, williams, clottey, and mosley right? The money is at 147 so it would only make sense if he can fight there to stay there right? You will see manny will NEVER fight at 147 again. His lone fight at 147 will be against his business partner oscar de la hoya.
pac's speed and angles nullified his jab or his intent to jab. he did threw his left hooks but it hit air and he paid for it and pac came back w/ hooks to the body. so dlh got more tentative. and as the rounds went on, he ate more power punches and made him weaker and more tentative while pac was still as fresh as the opening bell. it's a cycle that made him an easy target in the later rounds. so there you go, ur first boxing analysis lesson.
to be fair, JMM is ****ing amazing. That is all. :)
JMM is and has always been a better boxer than Oscar.
Absolutely.
Ive posted this already, but
I knew the fight was fixed man..
ROFL. Stop it dude, you look like an ass.

Sounds like someone is mad that it wasn't Margarito doing the beating.
Give credit where credit is due...like when your man beat Cotto :fing02:

Barrera wasn't in his prime at all!! When he fought Hamed he was already considered shot after getting his ass handed to him by Junior Jones twice. He had only two real wins after Junior Jones and that was Morales in the third fight and Hamed. Erik was shot after the Zahir Raheem loss and everyone new that yet Manny still fought him after that.
And most top boxing critic's(who are more than just fan's) Actually feel JMM won both fights against manny. Oh yeah and he just became the Lightweight champion of the world.
Wow.
You twist everything to suit your distaste for Manny.
So Barrera's prime was before he fought Morales?
When was Erik's prime? His tenth fight?
If it was Floyd in there with Oscar, you'd be saying Oscar was impressive despite being past his prime. Unfortunately, it wasn't a chicken he was in the ring with.
Proof that Nacho, Dundee, Joel and Zaragoza are the worst, lowliest kind of species for tolerating what Oscar fed to them. They conspired altogether.
And Oscar was willing to suffer brain damage just to pass the torch to Manny.
Is this what you're saying?
Because from my point of view, Morales, Barrera, Diaz connived with their respective trainers too. Even Ledwaba did, even going so far as to suffer a broken nose.
I agree, I thought Oscar's performance was beyond pathietic and i'm surprised more people aren't up in arms about this. I'm not trying to take anything away from Pac but it looked like Oscar wanted to be retired. In the seventh he just let Manny pummel him, why the **** did he not even attempt a jab to keep Manny away. I would have been pissed off if i'd paid for that so called fight and for the money DLH got, he should have at least let Manny KO him properly.
He didn't want to or he couldn't?
I've been reading that it was in his contract that he couldn't walk into the ring above 147 without paying a fine per pound.
Either thats how he came in willingly, or that he agreed to come in at that weight. It's Oscar's fault for takin that gamble.
i don't know about that. that's bs to me.
some guy probably got confused about the weigh in agreement and thought it applied to coming in the ring weight.
either way oscar only has himself to blame.

Nobody was saying barrera was shot after the jones fights, they were saying jones was a bad matchup but thats it. Pac fought barrera I while he was in his prime, Erik was past it by the time pac got to him in the first fight, and i still consider him past it in the 2nd, by the third, he was obviously shot IMO, which says alot about pac fighting david diaz.
sadly i saw in oscar what i saw in roy jones last month, a man who simply couldnt pull the trigger. Alibata keeps saying oscar wasnt shot, but if freddie roach himself was arguing and advocating that he was, why would you say any different? He looked shot last night, completely infact, why even dispute it, if you know oscar, you know hes beaten the shit out of smaller guys like paez, CHAVEZ (yea i said it) and Camacho.
lol Thats what I'm sayin...
And with Oscar's caliber of hands/reach he shouldn't have only been on the list to put up a good fight with Paq, but he should have been the first on that list to KO him in the states. But that contractual obligation about the weight (that Oscar willingly signed) ultimately sent Oscar into the fight dead on his feet.
That was another huuuuge gambel on Oscar's part. And he lost in a major way.
And the more I think about it, Oscar should stay away from 147 unless he's permitted to make 147 at the weigh in, and then come in at any weight he feels like come fight night.
like roach said , "oscar trained to make weight."
i think he could have made 147 and been 160 in the ring but he didn't want to.
i think he was afraid of the unofficial weigh in to show a weight disparity.
we'll see if he ever fights again whether his loss to manny was due to weight drain or if he's just shot.
I think any of the good active lightweight boxers as JMM or even David Diaz could beat Saturday’s night Oscar. That was just so f**ken strange. I am not taking credit from Pac, but Oscar fought horrible. Every Friday I see better boxers locally than Yesterday's Oscar.. That was sad. He fought like an amateur, rookie, etc..:wtf:
JMM with the advantage of hindsight, I would give the benefit of the doubt, but he aint a south paw nor as active as PAC
Diaz on the otherhand even being a lefty, will be there standing to get HIT and even with all his heart, he will be KTFO early...
