Just think about it
Mayweather barely beats DLH - Close fight
Mayweather was the P4P King - Retires
Pac is current P4P King
Pac destroys DLH
The ex P4P king against the current more exciting P4P king who just destroyed the most popular fighter of our generation.
It would be like Frazier vs Ali for 2009.
with that being said, i seriously think they went too far with the henry armstrong comparison, espeicially when i refreshed my memory to that guys resume, i think thats taking it way too far, especially to the average fan who might say "PACMAN IS BETTER THAN SOME HENRY ARMSTRONG, HBO SAID IT"
also. i think marquez counterpunching is outstanding, but i think mayweather is alot better than him in terms of countering without eating some vicious counter like pac ended up doing, those knockdowns cost him the fight, against mayweather, those easy openings wont be there.
Their accomplishments are similar but yeah, Armstrong's resume at welterweight was much better.
Marquez is a more aggressive counterpuncher, Mayweather prefers to counterpunch off the back foot nowadays and time his opponents as they are coming in, timing is probably a bigger part of his counterpunching than Marquez' counterpunching so that could be a factor because Pacquiao is a tough guy to time.
And I agree, Mayweather won't give Pacquiao the opportunities to hit him that Marquez did but maybe Pacquiao can make his own opportunities.
You're right, Mayweather's power is underrated, he has good power, he's not particularly a hard puncher but he has enough power to keep an opponent in check, his opponents also get gunshy because of his accuracy, they don't want to repeatedly get hit flush but can Mayweather be as accurate against a guy like Pacquiao, who is awkwardly hard to time, his movements don't really allow his opponents to time him that well, JMM obviously had the best success at timing him but JMM and Mayweather fight differently
And I agree, Pacquiao cannot get gunshy or hesitant against Mayweather, I don't think he would but that's just a guess because you never know what might happen in there.

One strange thing, and maybe you already know, for whatever reason, alot of guys get very gunshy against floyd, i know he is fast, but i think its probably because floyds power is rather deceptive or its unexpected. With that said, manny dropping big left hands over the shoulder would be a site to see, however mayweathers preperation is very unique, either way it would be exciting, but still, if there was a point in the fight where manny stopped throwing, it would be the same show all over again.

This would be an ideal matchup, but it'll probably never happen. I don't see any reason other than money, that Floyd would want to come out of retirement and challenge Manny Pacquiao. I believe that a Margarito- Pacquiao bout have a better chance of getting done than a Pacquiao-Mayweather one.
I'm aware of that but Pacquiao is a tough guy to adapt to and he doesn't fade like Judah does, anyways as I said, I wouldn't pick Pacquiao to win but I don't think it would be one sided and I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow pulls out a victory.

Mayweather usually takes about 4 rounds to adjust to a fighter, against judah, again, 4 rounds is what it took and he adjusted. I think mayweather could potentially struggle early, but he is highly intelligent, but one thing i will say, when mayweather is losing a fight (castillo 1) he digs deep, by no means will he just fold up under pressure.

IMO Pacquiao himself has turned into one of the smartest boxers there is himself!
It would be a great, huge fight but I doubt it would be as big as Ali-Frazier. Pacquiao has been showing a different dimension of his game lately, one that can box as well as be aggressive at the same time, last time Mayweather fought someone who is as quick as him, he had problems, I'm not saying Pacquiao would win but I really don't think it would be a blowout for Mayweather.

i wouldnt go as far as to saying its like ali frazier because the racial element to that fight was undeniable, not to mention the timeframe. this fight would be big, but dlh/mayweather is going to be tought to top, the hype going into that fight was unbelievable. sadly those of us who thought mayweather would counter punch and outbox dlh were right and it was fairly anticlimactic and pedestrian.
Are you people crazy? Floyd Mayweather would destroy Pacquiao! Who cares if he stopped Oscar. Oscar was shot to hell and it was obvious. Plus he went down to a weight he hasnt fought in yearsssss. I hope Mayweather vs Pacquiao comes off because Mayweather will own that ass.
floyd is overrated in his drawing power...
pac v. hatton would be huge...
hell id rather see pac v. nate campbell...
mayweather would probally want the fight at 154...
After seeing oscar smoked like a pack of kools, sht , floyd better stay retired...he couldn,t stop hoya in 12 rds. And pacquiao did it in 8....floyds bitchmade anyway...
