he has done something not alot of ppl do.
starting at 106 and today is figihting one of the best fighters at 147.
this dude is for real.
THE GREATESt FIGHTER OF ALL ****ING TIME.
**** U xcareT.
AND HORUS FLOYD IS NOT THE GREATES FIGHTER OF ALL TIME...IS MANNY ****ING PACQUIAO.
What Manny done was brillant and all credit it to him, but i really do belive De La Hoya got the weight all wrong, i don't think he should of been at 147 in the first place, but to come in order that and only put on like 2 pound what after weigh in what was he thinking,i cound't belive Manny was actually the heavier man fight night.I thought after weigh in Oscar would go back up to say 154, and Manny at 148, but Manny coming in the heavier man, that was the concept of the fight that Manny was moving up to face the bigger man.I think Oscar fought he would get more credit if Manny weighed heavier than him and he still won,but the De La Hoya looked as weak as a kitten and looked like he didn't have a decent punch in him. Taking nothing away from Manny do he had a lot of heart and courage doin what he did and he put on a dazzling display. Some really great fights out there now for Manny etc Hatton, Mayweather, Marquez 3.And think Oscar should really consider retirement.
i'm a filipino and a pacman fan from the bottom of my heart, but i would say that those who doubt the validity of the bout have valid points, and i would like to add some things that made me wonder about the fight too..i will be saying these things not to discredit manny's fighting ability, who's obviously an ATG, but to say that the match is indeed suspect..
i have watched the last 10 fights of manny or so..and i know that when sees a weakness in his opponent, he goes in for the kill. but what he did on the last 2 rounds was back off when he should have finished it with a KD/KO. He even turned his back repeatedly and wait for ODH at the middle of the ring or get off the ropes, even when ODH, who's usually an offensive fighter, wasn't even throwing a single punch..and he was even trained to counter-attack with the help of JMM's previous trainer...
what do we know of what really goes on on the closed door negotiations? Isn't boxing a prizefighting business controlled by big men w/ lots of dough(gambling lords?)? we only see what we were allowed to see on the ring..but the truth?hmmm...the big odds were against pacman and letting him win?well do the math..
one of the members here even posted something from marcobarrera.com that an insider said that ODH will tuck-in on the 8th?and guess what? Roach "predicted" that manny will win on the 8th/9th round..
again i am not a hater, i just want a valid/fair win for manny...not some cooked up match..maybe that's why it was called a Dream match..:werd:

i couldn't have said it better. :boxing:
Pacquiao is definately an ATG fighter. Oscar, shot or not, was still a top fighter at 154lbs and 90% of you people thought that he would easily knock out Pacquiao. but not me. hehe. and after a performance like that, how can you not be impressed by him? he fought the perfect fight against Oscar.
Pacquiao was well on his way to becoming an ATG before the De La Hoya fight anyway.
if i were you i would get my $50 rebate coupons now.
I would agree with you that Oscar looked shot if he tried to mount an offense and failed, but that is not what happened. When Oscar did mount an offense, he was effective, but backed off.
...blah, blah, blah
heard that excuse before...lol, every fighter pac beats get shot overnight. you can't count our pac's heart and determination to win for his people.
He looked shot to me, he was going off balance throwing shots, he couldn't get off, he couldn't get out of the way of any of Pacquiao's punches, all signs of a boxer losing his faculties.
Pacquiao fought a great fight, great gameplan but DLH is shot.
I would agree with you that Oscar looked shot if he tried to mount an offense and failed, but that is not what happened. When Oscar did mount an offense, he was effective, but backed off.
When the camera panned to Millie, she did not seem surprised, nor distraught. Bernard Hopkins was not visible at ring side trying to shout instructions to Oscar.
All of these things together indicate to me that they all knew what was suppose to happen.
I don't think Pacman was suppose to dominate in such emphatic fashion, but his acting skills are not all that great as we have seen in his previous theatrical engagements.
Id be willing to bet that either A) Pacman moves to GoldenBoy or B) TopRank and GoldenBoy merge.
I don't care how shot a fighter is, the power is the last thing to go. Oscar was not throwing with power, he was not trying to throw with power, nothing.
I would be able to believe the results if we could see him TRYING to throw with power, or TRYING to get off, but he simply wasn't. He was pity patting tapping with his jab, all of his punches were soft, not weak, soft.
There is a noticeable difference between a weak fighter trying to trow a hard punch, and a stronger fighter throwing soft shots. Oscar was throwing soft shots.
I am disappointed that I payed for this farce, although I did glean a little bit of satisfaction from Manny beating the shit out of Oscar for putting on such a piece of shit show.
Possibly THE WORST ppv event I have ever bought.
We got what, a total of 11 round of action out of the entire event? None of them were even remotely competitive. I want my money back.
And dundee gaev up his reputation as well right?
you can't please anybody...but these pacquiao detractors are just plain haters. they're so fu**n' "unwise" even after what they've witnessed in front of them.
Pac will get the credit he deserved from the boxing fans except for the haters. If you look at other threads, the haters are discrediting Pac. Even though those haters predicted Oscar will KO Pac.
i knew he would beat another odd against him once again. i have never wavered my belief in pac. i should've have bet more. it if just went to +200, i should have bet and won more.
but pac is top 10 ATG for now, no doubt.
props to pac for putting philippines on the boxing map once more - the land of kali and the fiercest warriors on the planet.
Pac deserves all the credit in the world. He might not have done as well if everyone didn't expect him to lose, ala Hopkins.

how is dlh trying to throw the fight by getting his ass whupped? he should've went down on the first body shot and pounded the canvas again... then i'd believe the fix was in..
But pac is an ATG and one of the best that ever lived
finally we could agree on something.

He was trying, again it's a sign of a fighter's faculties deteriorating, it's the age old case of a fighter seeing an opening but not being able to take advantage of it because of age. And when a fighter is shot, his legs go which takes away leverage which takes away power, DLH always relied on leverage to generate power, he isn't the type of guy who hurts opponents with arm punches.
A guy that throws a fight won't take that kind of punishment.
I agree that it was a horrible PPV though.
I don't buy that.
Oscar is not as shot as you think.
What made him shot is Manny plain and simple.
If OScar fought Floyd today, I'm sure Floyd would be contented with touching Oscar's face and balls.
Manny fought an entirely different fight. He's the aggressor and weakened Oscar with all kinds of shot.
I really HATE the HATERS they could not give credit where credit is due, even calling the fight rigged...
But bro we got to admit Roach was right and Oscar cant pull the trigger anymore, he was YEARS past his prime and tonight he was SHOT by manny...

if manny had box like mayweather then the fight would have looked more competitive and people would give him more props. boxer will always get more credit then brawlers.
I think Manny should get more credit even though I didn't like the 147 issue.
Floyd should have fought more like the way he used to. He kept that fight close as well as the Hatton fight for the first half when he didn't have to. His more cautious behavior is going to be his downfall if he comes back. That, and inactivity.
Pac has it right: Fight to win from the Start. And stay Active. Also: Don't try to struggle to make weight...healthy is key. Take a Risk
Personally: I'm sick of the way Floyd has been fighting. I like Manny Pac very much. People saying Floyd was better when he moved up to 147...Again...Get The **** Out Of Here.
