well if you're gonna take that attitude then the fight ain't happening... floyd can make 140 easy... he forced hatton to move up to 147 to get an advantage himself... floyd isn't beyond playing the scales game either.
Floyd asked for the Hatton fight TWICE at 140; and TWICE he was denied...so Floyd took his bag and moved up to 147 to get what he always wanted: GOLD/Oscar. Oscar made Floyd come to him and Floyd went to 154.
Floyd was CHAMP at 147 so no point in moving back down after Hatton denied him.
You also have to remember, and we've gone over this many times, Floyd shows up by fight time for his Welter fights at around 149. Where do fighters that fight at 140 show up by fight time at? Around 149; including Hatton.
Just because it is said to be a "140" fight how is that possible if fighters aren't weighing in at 140 by fight time. So, there is no point in risking health to make fighters make weight. Floyd shows up around 149 and Pac has been showing up around 147 for his fights by fight-time = Fair fight...no need to weight-drain these fighters.
How do you know Floyd can make 140 Easy? He's already in his 30's; hasn't fought there in some time; and is a year removed from fighting.
Your not Floyd and neither am I...but I do know this: both fighters are showing up at around 147 for fight-time...so that's the weight. If you want, you can put it in the contract they can't go above 149.
I would like to hear your reply.
Then forget the fight. If you are better than the fighter, then beat him in the ring; not on the scales.
Pac weighed in at 147 by fight time, didn't he?
And didn't they say Pac weighed himself heavier in his hotel room right after the weigh-in?
Floyd weighs around 149 for his fight time weight.
So you admit that Pac won the fight on the scales against Oscar...which is why the fight was made at 147.
Someone just posted this article:
8CN – Were you surprised by how little Oscar weighed come fight time?
Freddie Roach – The thing is, he shrunk up his stomach so small that he couldn't get any food in him. I knew that at that low weigh,t after 3 rounds that he would be done. We just looked at that, and I told Manny that we will get him in the later rounds.

PBF would win. Can't say Pac's performance against old DLH is indicative of what he'd do wit PBF, especially at WW. I'm pretty sure Pac's 1 and done at 147. This will be at 140 if it happens.
nah a fight at 147 is an automatic loss for pac... pac weighed in at 142 to fight dlh... that was a one time deal i think

I know he won't do it, but if Floyd does indeed take this fight his best strategy would be to make the fight at 140 so that he can try and match both his foot and hand speed up with Manny as best as possible. Floyd just isn't as mobile and his combinations don't flow as good at 147 as they did at lower weights.
I will GIVE NO CREDIT TO PAC if this fight is made at 140. I am sick and tired of fighters that have to drain themselves to make weight only to show up "Flat" and lose and the other fighter hyped up as "Great" despite beating a ghost in front of them.
Pac is better than that as a person to have to win in such a way.
I know Freddie seems to care about Pac and wants to even make sure he has as many advantages against his opponent as possible...but come on; when is it going to stop?
I want a Fair fight. I don't want to see a Fighter STEAL the victory before the fight even starts.
And Yes, I have said that the fight starts at the negotiation table...but let's play fair for once and have a "Fair; honest" fight.
Floyd is already in his 30's; hasn't fought in over a year; hasn't fought at 140 for a while; is inactive...and you want him to come back down to 140 even though Pac just fought at 147 and shows up to his fights on fight-night at around 147 which is similar to Floyd who shows up about 149. No sense in making fighters drain weight just for the show of a weigh-in.
Floyd already doesn't fight the same and given all the circumstances of where Floyd may be at Mentally and Physically...let's atleast give Floyd the benefit of staying at 147.

Another JMM fight would be great, but we all know it - ain't gonna happen anytime soon. No money in-it. International and most local peeps again't gonna pay big bucks to see a guy who has been knocked down 4 times by the pac no matter how good a fighter he is. As for Valero, he seems to be talking shit saying he's the one that gave DLH the black eye @ bigbear. No money in that fight either so the guys never gonna get a shot and will keep on fighting bums over in Japan - lol. I think Valero needs to show he can go the distance first as his stamina hasn't been proven yet.
I personally think this is what's gonna happen - the Pac will only have 3 big fights left before he retires (that's what he has stated).
Next fight will be with Hatton @ Light Welterweight (140 lbs). That's pushing it with the Pac but it should be a good brawl anyways (and Hatton will get KTFO in later rounds). Gayweather is retired and I'll believe he'll sit this particular schedule to get back in shape. This will be a big money fight and PPV over the UK will be huge to back their man. I'm sure the Mexicans will watch this fight and back the Pac with their $$$.
The second fight will be with Gayweather - another big money fight which Gayweather will definitely be interested in, especially if it's 50/50 $$$. It will be dubbed as the fight of the century to figure out who the #1 PVP is. In the end, it'll be one boring fight with maybe the Gayweather winning by decision (back pedal - no fight). This fight will most likely be at Light Welterweight also - because everybody will say the Pac is disadvantaged at 147lbs (we all know Floyd can easily hit 140 especially when there's alot of $$$ involved). Everybody hates the gayweather so the Mexicans will definitely spend their hard earned $$$ to watch this fight. If this fight won't happen, then they'll most likely setup the PAC with Gayweather Jr - aka - Joan Guzman @ Lightweight (135 lbs). This time, I believe Gayweather Jr. will show up for the fight (unlike the bout vs. Nate Campbell) because he would be crazy not to (most likely will be the largest paycheck in his career). This will be dubbed Speed vs Speed, with Guzman getting KTFO because even though he might be fast, he doesn't have stopping power.
For PACs last fight, he'll end his career by fighting JMM @ Lightweight one last time to prove it to himself he won. The mexican assassin as usual will bring JMM to his knees a couple of times (let's face it, the Pac is stronger than JMM @ lightweight and JMM will be a couple of years older). But in the end, JMM will show him that he ain't Gay La Hoya and it'll be a fight to the end (no towels). Once again, the verdict will be just like fight #2. Knock Down always win. JMM will then retire with a fat assed bank account and he'll stop bitching about the Pac and will do a San Miguel Beer commercial with him and they'll be buddies.
if the fight is at 147 pac will definitely lose... the fight needs to be at 140 for pac to have a chance against a fighter as great as floyd

if you are Pac that's where you want it...but let's be fair: Floyd is already in his 30's; hasn't been active in over a year; and was fighting at Welterweight when he left.
Pac fought at 147 for this fight...he can fight Floyd at 147; who was lineal Champion at 147 when he left.
I want two healthy fighters in there and not one fighter struggling to make weight after a long period of inactivity.
If Floyd came back with no tune-ups, he would already be giving Pac an advantage with activity level...plus Pac is younger...why continue further with trying to make Floyd come down to 140 just to make weight for a weigh-in.
if the fight is at 147 pac will definitely lose... the fight needs to be at 140 for pac to have a chance against a fighter as great as floyd
As great as Floyd is, let's be honest he has handpicked his opponents and gone for the most money he could get with the minimum of risk. Pac has gone and fought the best opponents whenever he could.
Floyd hasn't got the balls to fight Pac.
I would quite like to see this fight.
In the past the thought of this fight happening was a joke but really i think its now a top fight.
Mayweather wins imo.
I would favor Floyd. Manny put on a great performance tonight, but I can't see him being too much of a problem for ''Money". My father recently spoke with Frank Mcneil of The Newark Star Ledger & he said Oscar was affected by going down from 154 to 147 at his age.I never want to take away from a athlete's performance because no ''what if'' is certain, but it is a great point. Oscar definitly looked flat footed & looked as if he somewhat shot fighter, on the other hand it could've been Paq-Man that threw him off, but he didn't look as comfortable at 147 as he did last year at 154. I hope Ellerbe & Al Haymon makes the fight as it would be enough money for Floyd to consider it. Also it would add greatly to his already great legacy by beating the p4p king.
"Not too much of a problem for "Money"
That's way too arrogant to believe. I think the Pacman will again show the world that he can beat good quality fighters. Remember what happened to ODLH last evening. That can even happen to the "Pretty Boy" JAT
i think the fight should be at 140 not 147

smart money still says floyd
but this timeeeee
id b rooten for pac
lol
where as b4 this fight i still thought floyd would win and would b rooten for him

I'm not sure if the win tonight is enough to draw Floyd out of retirement. A win against Hatton, matching Floyd's two most recent legacy-defining fights, might just be enough to tempt him in order to establish his dominance - not doing so would risk his legacy becoming overshadowed in this era.
Floyd is done.
Manny Pac needs to fight Hatton at 140. Make it happen..
Manny pac will get all the attention and possibly lure Floyd out of retirement.
Manny is the BEST fighter out there right now. Im happy to have witnessed what I have seen last night.
