Not trying to start nothin. I have heard reasoning that it is because of the way they fight. In comparison with other fighters who fight "like Mexicans" though, they still seem to be done earlier in their career.
Some examples
Erik Morales - age declared shot -29; Record when declared shot
48-3-0=Total fights 51
Compare to:
Manny Pacquiao - age -29 current "Prime" won 47-3-2=Total fights 52
Oscar De La Hoya - People saying if Manny wins it is only because Oscar is done at age 35; won 39 (KO 30) + lost 5 (KO 1) + drawn 0 = 44 rounds boxed 300
Compare to :
Sugar Shane Mosley - Age 37 won 45 (KO 38) + lost 5 (KO 0) + drawn 0 = 51
rounds boxed 343
Joe Calzaghe - age 36; won 46 (KO 32) + lost 0 (KO 0) + drawn 0 = 46
rounds boxed 263
There are other examples. Just curious, I dont hear anybody complaining about Jerry Penalosa, Hopkins, Trinidad etc the same way I hear about Morales, Barrera, De La Hoya, Chavez... Is it a Mexican thing? Just curious.
hahaha, please dont tell me your trying to say that we shouldnt make any excuses IF manny wins which ISNT gonna happen...a 50 year Oscar would still KO manny cockquiao back to china
after the de leon fight all you dumb ass pinoys were saying that a penalosa was old and a prime would of beat him, shut the fuk up.... morales was battle worn, too many toe to toe fights can damage you
why is it always the pinoys asking stupid questions?
You really love getting owned don't you?
I think Mexican fans are pathetic losers.
for sure.
They take their boxers loses way to serious to the heart.
They even hated their own people like DelahOya because he whooped their idol Julio Cesar Chavez.
They talk so much sh*t before the fight, talks all big and predicts that their man is going to win.But when they loses, they aren't even man enough to accept defeat......sore losers I tell ya.
ahahahaha
Get mad!
, i dont think race really has anything to do with it like the ts suggested. It's a combination of factors age, ring wear, and fighting style.
They are factors but Descipline IMO is the barometer...
IF Morales didnt balooned to 160+ lbs in between fights im sure he can still compete at the elite level.

And this guy was the first to say DelaHoya was too old after he got whooped.....moron..
NO MAS!

Jokes on you.
One thing I noticed though, people only say they're shot when pacquiao whoops them.
hahahaha
Pacquiao beat them so badly they become shot after and retires.
MAB had 60 fights PAC 53 at age 29
PAC Had 49 combined rounds againts Marquez and Morales plus 23 rounds againts Barrera himself.
You have to review it again.
barrera actually had 10 more fights by the time he was pac's age. that's alot in a fighter's career especially in the latter part of it. pac is definitely going strong now but who knows how he'll look by the time (or if) he reaches 60+ fights. Morales and marquez obviously faced fresher versions of each other in wars with back and forth action which took alot out of both. Morales' decline probably came faster because of his brawling style. Anyway, i dont think race really has anything to do with it like the ts suggested. It's a combination of factors age, ring wear, and fighting style.
Barrera had more fights at pac's age and fought top level opposition throughout. the three wars between morales and barrera also took alot out of both. look at marquez, his career didnt really take off until later because he was stuck in those guys shadows. He's 35 now and still doing well.

El Pacman and Ako pa HA had similar threads.. and a couple of others i cant remember
because
1. Mexican fighters tend to get into more wars, resulting in more punishment over time.
2. Morales won his first title at 21 years old I believe. so did Barrera. Im pretty sure that Calzaghe and Mosley won their titles in their midtwenties. and these guys(Morales and MAB) didnt just sit around, they defended their title up to 3 times a year. fighting lots of championship level opponents early in your career can wear you out down the stretch.
3. A lot of Mexicans start boxing professionally when theyre teenagers, because they need to make money and cant screw around with amateur fights. thats basically a head start in the punishment catagory.
4. Cutting weight has a lot to do with a fighters decline.
5. Mexicans spar a lot in training. I believe JCC used to spar 10-12 rounds a day in training when he was still very motivated for boxing. that kind of intense training really beats up fighters.
Pacquiao hasnt been in quite as many wars as MAB or Morales, but sooner or later were going to see him go downhill too.
24 Rounds with Marquez
23 Rounds with Barrera
25 Rounds with Morales
12 Rounds with Larios
Turned Pro at age 16. A linear Champion at age 19. Still primed after 53 fights.
Most fighters get fat in between fights. Its not PAC's fault that he threats his body like Hopkins.
Its not about race. Its about descipline.
then why is it Pacquiao still in his prime and his already 30 now(days to go) and still his not old or shot... his been fighting since his still young he captured his championship belt when he was 19 yrs old... at the same age where eric is so called shot and also barrera...

you wanna make a bet you alibata shit stain? i got 10k on dlh, you seem so confident manny is gonna beat up dlh whos 10x the better fighter and has been in the ring with the best welterweights of his era.
lmao aw man

It's the balut.

Pacman is still 29 and just had one of the best performances of his life so it fits in with the timeline.
Let's see how well the guy is fighting by age 31 or 32 and then get back to me.

(( Silencer )) What's your comment about this thread? I mean
"The only way DLH loses if he's shot"
That's a big drawback from the many logical posts you have made
because mexicans like to brawl and they start their careers early... this is why they get shot earlier.Prety much your answer right here. Although of course it varies by fighter... and a I'd bet that a guy like Pacquiao will start fading fast as well once he starts getting into his 30's. The guy's aggressive style indicates he'll have a hard fall real soon.

Back on topic.....It seems to me that Mexican fighters become shot earlier because they bypass an amateur career to turn pro at a real early age. They are forced to compensate for their lack in experience by taking more fights early to improve their skill without the benefit of headgear. Alot of mexican fighters are also poor and are forced to juggle training and full time manual labor jobs.
