Is it just me or is Paulie...

the reason paulie looked so good against n'dou is because N'dou is that crap.

He needs to get rid of Buddy. He does him no favors, then ending the fight for him when it werent that bad? poor. He has not been the same with Buddy, the first 2 fight with him he was still Paulie then Buddys regime took over and changed him....oh and yeah bring back the gelled hair. Its a toss up with Paulie, Either hes good or he sucks

I think Paulie's a good fighter, he's just not elite. I think he could still beat most JWW fighters out there. And yes, he obviously is very nervous about throwing his right hand.

Paulie has been looking like shit ever since he got rid of his Guido hair do.

He has been looking pretty limited lately, he actually seems to have regressed as a fighter rather progressed, why that is, I don't know.

Paulie should take 1 year off and go back to the Gym and work on his biceps/triceps, gaining a lot more strength instead of running to nightclubs with the guys. Once he gained power in his arms, I think he can do a lot more with his hand speed/jabs/footwork and increased power in his hands..that would be interesting but this will only happen if he and his trainer really want a change.

To be onest Paulie got were he is mostly due to his image etc loudmouth, flashy, the pretty boy image.Also his hands down flashy style gets attention, and plus Lou Dibella promoted him alot and for me made out he was alot better than he was and also Paulie has got heart, yes there are skills there but overall i do think he done well getting were he got especailly with his bad hands, but his only really convincing performance was against a good solid fighter in N'dou the first fight other than that his title reign was pour got a decsion against Herman Ngoudjo(who he called a f******g bum a few months earlier) in which i thought he lost, and his second defence he reamacthed N'dou in a fight which could of went either way,and then got stripped of the title.And in his other big fights showed heart against Cotto but got his face destroyed and lost a clear decision and went into survial mode after the first couple of rounds against Hatton before getting stopped(towl thrown in).So overall i think Paulie done well getting this far in the sport.

The thing that makes him limited is his power. If he even had just a little bit of pop in his punches he could do something. He is fast, can box, but lacks power to keep these guys off of him. If he had some sort of pop he would be able to move forward and use his speed and combinations. But at the elite level he cant hurt them for the most part. His jab looked good against Hatton early, and his right hand was decent. He even landed a few check left hooks, but Hatton was not even phased by them, and he was able to walk through them to Paulie. If Paulie had any power, Hatton wouldnt be able to just walk in with wreckless abandon, and the fight would have been different. Hatton would have still won, but it wold have been a bi more competitive. You basically beat me to it He has good boxing skills, but the lack of power makes it soo hard to compete at a high level. I mean, I would keep comming if it didnt hurt, and thats what hatton and cotto did.. Hes got good skills but i think he actually was hurt in that fight tho.. he was always holding, and i think hattons power scared him a bit.. If paulie had pop he wouldnt won that fight tko/ko.. he landed the check hook about 7-8 times cleannn hatton walked right thru it.. thats so discouraging.. he went into survival mode.. he did well in the fight round tho.. hes a good fighter, and lost to p4p champs.. all in all. good skills, and speed.. NO power.. he should kinda retire and chill now man.. he should promote

He isnt a bad fighter, its just he's not on the level of Hatton and Cotto. When ever he steps up to the top class fighters of his division, it becomes apparent that he doesnt belong there. I agree with this statement. Paulie is a very talented guy especially considering he ends up having to fight one handed... look at him vs ndou in their first fight...paulie owned him and the crowd...probably his best performance in a victory... It just seems like when he gets more interest from the fans and more people are watching he folds... cotto beat him pretty bad...hatton had his way with him for the most part... but those are guys who have made the p4p list... im not ready to sleep on paulie personally. i think he makes the best out of what he has on his side; speed, his jab; heart; etc. I dont think paulie will ever be in a big PPV fight...nor do i think he'll ever been even considered for the top 25 of the sport but i give him credit...he has a brittle right hand but somehow manages to win fights...

WHY should he be ranked over Bradley, Holt, Kotelnik or even Witter. His last 3 fights were horrible. I dont rank him there Tony J..I feel you. I think Holt and Witter would dispose of him easy...

His problem is lack of POP... he is slick and fast... But his power is so minimal..That some fighters can and will walk right through him.. that is his limitation.. I agree wit this and to the those who say that we are disrespecting fighters, that is not it..we are fans and from a fan's standpoint we can voice how we feel about fighters..isn't that what discussions are for? If we all agreed all the time, then how interesting of a boxing forum would this be?
