Hatton is still a flawed fighter. Paulie nearly knocked him out in the first round and once in another round. If Hatton didn't hold so much Paulie would have been able to bust up that eye twice as bad and probably would have been able to stop Hatton. As it was he nearly got the stoppage. That right hand f*cked Hatton up bad.
Still, I think that Hatton is now number four on the P4P list. Maybe three with this win. If McGirt didn't stop it so prematurely though, Paulie still had a chance to catch Hatton coming in and get a TKO. He was starting to get caught on the way in, and even Paulie with no power could have cracked Hatton's chin with one of those solid check hooks.
I think the new Hatton could possibly beat Mayweather though. As long as they fought at 140 of course.
The dude who started this thread isn't even serious. He's only ****ing with you...nobody can be this delusional.
i thought i was the only one who noticed that.............its a wind up but some actually skirt around the idea of agreeing with him...........i had to be watching a different fight to some on this
Hatton was ready for the taking after that counter right at 0:35 if only Paulie could have followed up. Unfortunately Malignaggi had broken his right hand earlier in the fight and couldn't use it like he wanted to.
The stoppage was comparable to Steele's stoppage of Chavez-Taylor I in my opinion, it will be talked about for years.
Benny speaks the truth.
See? Two of the most knowledgeable posters on this forum agree with me! Hatton is a fraud and a fake and if Paulie had someone like Emmanuel Steward in his corner or Mayweather Snr, who would not have taken any pay-off money, instead of McGirt, he would now be sitting at number three on the new Pound for Pound lists instead of Hatton who is now at three.
I thought Paulie must have broken his hand because Hatton was seriously done and if it wasn't for that he could have finished up properly and cracked Hatton's fragile, Khan-like chin. Paulie just didn't follow up though and I knew then that something must have been wrong. He had a kind of weird, constipated, uncomfortable look on his face which was obviously the result of one of those brilliant right hands he unleashed furiously on Hatton's china-chin and it crumbling under the immense pressure. Nonetheless, one more of those and Hatton's eye would have popped just like the Klit's did against Lewis and you could see him winding one up just as McGirt and the ref stepped in.
I think McGirt will be seen as the new Panama Lewis after this. It was obviously a pay-off because Paulie had just landed some solid right hand counters and was well on his way to victory.
Hatton should feel cheated by this win. He should give Paulie a rematch to see who is the real number three Pound for Pound fighter in the world. Although, now that Calzonie has retired, it should be for the number two spot. If Hatton doesn't give Paulie a rematch, then he's a fraud!
I doubt he will give him a rematch though because I think Mayweather Jr will come out of retirement for a Hatton rematch instead of Paulie. It would be huge dollars for them especially if it's in Manchester. If they fight at 140 Hatton wins this big.

that is the most delusional pov i've ever seen or heard, what fight were you watching!?!! malignaggi doesn't have enough power to knock out a 3rd grade school girl, so what if he caught hatton with a shot or two, it's a boxing match, that happens, not once in their fight was hatton even phased by anything malignaggi threw or did.
what i saw was mailgnaggi being outs classed, out hustled, and getting worked over, i also maliganggi hold on for dear life from the end of the second round on, til his corner threw in the towel. not once did i see mailgnaggi hurt anyone in the ring let alone hatton last night......
almost knocked him out! hahaha, man keep those jokes rolling, you might have a future in writing jokes for saturday night live!!! god knows they need the help....
I was so mad. He caught him with a real good right hand around the 8th. He didn't follow up with anything. Story of the fight. He usually thorw a lot more combinations, didn't see that at all
:lol1: do u think he really had a chance??? paulie just have to thank dibella for his management... thats all..!!
I like this kind of thread, haha!!
You'll see those who are stupid enough to react and take it seriously, especially the fan boys!!
Although Hatton still has a lot to improve on. defense and his left..he could have easily won if he could use his left more effectively. Paulie ducked alot as he comes in. He could do w/ left hooks, uppercuts or even jabs.:boxing: he just relied on his straight rights on coming in..
I'm still laughing about that earlier comment: 'Hatton almost knocked out'.
I've been watching boxing many years, and that's given me the best laugh yet. lol
OK, let's move on. I wonder who'd Hatton would prefer next? Pacman, Oscar or Cotto?
It'll be interesting to see who he gets.
this thread is a joke, Hatton wasn't hurt at any point in the fight, Paulie punches are like cotton wool to what Hatton has taken in the past, this was the Hatton we grew to know 3-4 years ago not the silly straight forward and fight Hatton that the US has seen him like in the last few fights before this
and the funny thing is, that Paulie nearly KO'ing Hatton isn't even the most ludicris statement made in the OP!
Hatton #3 or 4 pound for pound??? you serious???

I never saw Hatton in trouble. Wishful thinking perhaps? lol
The only time he hurt Ricky was when he was hanging on to him for dear life. LMAO.
The Hatton comeback is in full swing. Roll on Oscar....
Hatton was no where near hurt at anytime in the fight.
He took some shots flush but paulie is way to lightfisted to hurt him..
He ragged paulie around in there Paulie did most if not all of the clinching
which is crazy considering how much Paulie mouthed off about Hatton being
John ruiz long lost stepchild.
Man, did you even watch the fight? That punch landed square and f*cked Hatton's eye up bad. Hatton was shaken up bad after that. If he didn't hold Paulie could have caught him with a big counter and, even with his lack of power, Hatton might not have been able to take it.
I think it was a bad stoppage from the ref and Paulie still had a good chance of winning. Hatton's eye was getting worse and Paulie was catching him more and more with good counter's. McGirt ruined that fight.
Hatton is still probably number three on the P4P lists now though. I think Paulie falls off them now as well with that loss.
Listen I have no pull around here, I'm a complete n00b (in this place at least) but WTF fight were you watching bro?? Hatton was holding??? Paulie had a good chance of winning??? McGirt ruined the fight how?? McGirt ruined the fight by telling Paulie how to win, then watching Paulie do absolutely nothing he told him to do, then throwing in the towel before Hatton really tried to hurt him. If that's your definition of ruining a fight then I can live with it.
Paulie landed one good combo to open the 8th, but Hatton was more off balance than anything else.
Mr. crust = dumbest ****ing moron on this board.
He's trolling for dumb idiot fishes. Looks like he caught one with you you stupid ****ing ugly troll UK fanboy.
Not sure who ur calling a uk troll fanboy. But if that was directed at me you can go blow your mother. If it wasnt then disregard .
